Just curious, what if Paul doesn't "own" Lin tomorrow?

Well, for defense, you have to give up something, you could not guard both FG% and assist at the same time though. Also the number are per game, and there is differences in time played, thus I think you could not compare the assists just like that, need some kind of normalization though. But FG% and 3FG% could be directly compared.

not sure what did you see from assists numbers.....

I know people love Beverley on clutchfans but if you talk to fans from OKC, GS, Portland or other teams around the league they will tell you that he is a dirty player. You don't have to prod them; they volunteer that opinion freely. It isn't just about the Westbrook play.

I don't think Beverley's injury is as bad a loss for the Rockets as some do. Lin provides a better scoring threat with no significant drop off defensively and he can help get Parsons going again. Parsons' drop correlates with Lin's reduction in minutes since the all star break. I also think that Casspi, Garcia and Asik will see more playing time and each of them can affect the game at both ends of the floor when they're in rhythm.

Sports fans have terrible opinions that they love spouting off? Well I never.

A lot of this came after that stupid backheaded compliment of an article from Grantland. They were just spouting nonsense saying Beverly purposly undercuts players when I've never seen him do this. After that article, it kept getting cited all over basketball forums and Twitter. They should really think about what they put out.

The minutes per game don't always match. Would be better to do per 36.

This is true...but a lot of it is just propaganda from the national media, trying to make something out of nothing. Folks just buy into as usual.

Paul did not own Lowry this season because they did not face each other this season. The two games CLIPR face TOR, Paul was not playing.

So he purposely positions himself under players so they land awkwardly? If he does it intentionally than damn he is a dirty player then.

really hard to draw conclusions because Lin and Bev were usually on the floor with different players.

But as a ball park, the numbers do seem consistent with a gut feeling from watching the games that Lin would fare better against Parker, Lillard, or possibly Conley, than against CP3 or Curry.

this is fukin depressing though. we always seem to get some crucial injury. 08 we lost yao for the season, lost deke v. portland in 09. lost yao v. lakers in 09. heck, we even lost juwan in 05. rafer's injury in 08 was critical too, right before the playoffs, cuz it made the horribly sucky bobby jackson play huge mins.

look. i like lin, and think he'll fill in and play well. his stats as a starter are nice. i hate all the fuking discussion with everyone overanalyzing the crap of thigns. but we're gonna severely miss bev's intensity on defense and more sound 3 pt shooting. most importantly, we're going to lose important depth, and flexibility with the bev/lin backcourt. this just means some scrub like hamilton or cannan will play extended mins. that's the biggest problem...not that lin is the starter or anything. wish we still had brooks.

I don't think he intentionally do that, but he definitely is not actively trying to avoid that, his aggressive game not really taking safety into his consideration. You can not say he is dirty, but it is reckless.

It is better to get minor injuries during the regular season like harden did. 82 games are too much indeed. So Indiana will be in trouble if they keep pushing. Durant and James are going to have trouble in the playoff.
