Just wondering... alot of people have complained about Anderson's contributions to this team on the offensive side lately... we'll seeing as some people on this board think they know how i'd like to see some suggestions. I'll flat out say that I don't know what we can do with Anderson but I sure as heck want him out there during clutch times.... I also believe that if we want him back in a Rocket's jersey next year we should get him better involved... I like Anderson and his defence is alot more reliable than steve's or especially cat's. i like the way he knows when to shoot and when not to unlike some players on the rockets roster. So here's the deal, We want Anderson involved, what do we do ....? what kind of plays do we run for him? do we change the offence..? who doesn't get to shoot as much now? ------------------ "Wahooo"-homer I'm not only a fan but I'm also the bartender at clutchcity chat For the last time I'm not Tybrave!!!!!
We wait till he learns how to dribble, then we can set up some decent plays for him. But I think he has been working on them... A few days ago, I saw him attempt a clever behind the back dribble, and though he got completely ripped, the fact that he at least attempted it shows that he might have been workin on his handles. The only plays we can set up for Shandon are post ups I guess because he can use his strength and size instead of having to use his dribbling. Shandon just has to get his points in the flow of the offense. He's not really a go-to type of guy at all. He just needs to be aggresive, take the 3 pointers, slash when the defenders run at him, and of course keep runnin on the fast break. The last few games, I think I've been seeing some more comfort and aggresiveness from him. Twice I've seen him stop and pop for an 18 footer, and I dont think I've ever seen Shandon do that except for 1 or 2 times last season maybe. The only other play I can think of that'll effectively work is run Shandon off a bunch of picks and create some backdoor plays so Shandon will have an easy layup every now and then. ------------------ da ability to focus attention on important things is a defining characteristic of intelligence - alaskanSnowman [This message has been edited by alaskansnowman (edited December 19, 2000).]
Anderson's strength is finishing the break and scoring underneath the basket. I am a fan of Walt but since he is playing poorely I say move Shandon to the three and give him a chance to take it to the hole. Also, if our big men would do a better job on the defensive glass that would free up people like Shandon and Steve to start the brake (which shandon excels at) instead of having to stay at home and help out on the boards. ------------------
