I find it a little strange some of them feel so strongly about our "flopping". I have different friends who are fans of several other teams and it's never been something they have complained about The Rockets. Especially not in "the most notorious floppers" in the league territory.

Same thing goes for Bev being a "dirty" player. I usually here "he's a hard nosed *******" about him, but not dirty.

Harvard. Pressure must have been great. Whether division 1 or other pressure is pressure.

Meniscus tears are operated on even with a minor tear, and you can comeback relatively quickly... Ron Artest had a minor tear that required surgery and was back in under two weeks.

Bev, seems injury prone. His stomach muscles twice, thumb, now his knee. All in less than a full year. He has lost more playing time than any Rocket other than Smith and Asik. Why is this happening? How can we prevent an injury to him again. I think lack of a good physical trainer may be responsible.

Isn't it? I understand that some cases cannot be repaired or rehabbed, but in other cases players have chosen to have them removed even if they can in order to come back earlier.

He is physically more reckless (in mostly good ways) than anyone else on this team - mixes it up with the bigs all the time, and uses his lateral quickness constantly.

He had it removed. It's the short term solution but makes the joint debilitating year round. No meniscus equals no cushion and bone on bone grinding.

    Silver Lining?

Rockets push the pace on offense even more with Lin in transition attacking relentlessly.

Canaan doesn't need to do anything spectacular. He just needs to be smart with the ball and make sure it continues moving on offense.

#1 To the Thunder fan that said Harden isn't competitive, you don't know what you are talking about. Harden is extremely competitive, especially in key games.

#2 We don't know how bad Beverley's meniscus tear is. It may well be a minor tear which could mean minor surgery and rest, he would possibly be back by the playoffs or the second round.

#3 Even without Beverley in the first round, the Rockets should win. Lin is capable of producing at a high level.

#4 Concerning the Brooks trade, it doesn't make much difference. Brooks defense is horrible and while he had his moments he isn't irreplaceable by Daniels are shifting Harden to the point for limited minutes.

#5 We are basically locked into the 3-5 seed, so in the regular season the lose of Becerley isn't a killer.

It may turn out that Beverley is out for the year, but far from certain. They will get a second opinion and let the swelling go down and see how well it has healed and if he needs surgery. Historically Beverley heals quick so it isn't all doom and gloom.

Maybe Lin melds well with his new role, Beverley comes back for round 2 and the Rockets are hitting on all cylinders.

They never won a championship. I'm sorry u lived your life thinking this whole time lin was an ncaa champion. I know being a lin fan usually means it very ignorant to reality but u can try to Google stuff once in a while.

Thanks for that info. I did not know that is how they made the decision now. Back when I had my 2nd knee surgery around 2004 or so the thinking was different. From my understanding they would often opt to remove torn cartilage versus repairing it at all. I can't remember where the tear was before. I've had so many procedures. I think it was on the outside, but I don't remember.

Arrest had a very minor flap scoped. Not all meniscus tears are the same. He didn't even have stitches. It doesn't mean that is what is wrong with Beverley, but there is a wide range of possibilities.

This sucks. While I never agreed with the path this team has chosen, I always thought that Bev was an important piece of the puzzle.

Let's hope that Canaan is ready and wish for a speedy recovery for Bev. I would rather he doesn't force his way back and hurt his career in the process.

The Rockets haven't said anything yet so we can remain optimistic. We simply don't know what's going to happen. But, if we do lose him, Beverley being out for the season is going to hurt us a lot.

Peace/Artest was at this best and was close to a 2009 Lebron back before he had anything removed. Now he can barely play. Let me show you an example of Ron Artest prior, he as a King rampaged on the Rockets and with Novak's game winning 3 Rockets wouldn't have made it to 22 in a row that year. That's the Artest at his best, unstoppable and almost Lebron like in everyway, especially defensively. After he had his meniscus removed during an off season with the Lakers, he's not even close to that Artest. Wade had his removed as well and he's on and off since college.. Repair is the best approach to the meniscus.
