The Rocket's bench is a legit concern going into the playoffs. The starters can't log all the minutes for seven games. The performance of our bench has been real disappointing. Casspi and Garcia have regressed and Hamiliton can't hit the side of a barn. Asik has hands of stone.

You know what I realized? The Rockets play in a manner that reminds me of biblical stoning; we just throw points at teams until we bury them and they stop moving. How demoralizing is it to just have a team go off on you so hard and so quick like that and just widen the lead so much in so little time. It's almost unfair!

Bench had a solid night tonight with 36pts for the game. I can see your point but IF the bench produce 30 plus pts a game then the team will be tough to beat.

The defense on the bench is fine, especially with Asik manning the paint. It's the offense that is most troubling, and Lin needs to lead the charge in that aspect.

From today's game, when the bench was losing the lead early on, it seemed like the Rockets were not playing to the strength of some of their bench players. D-Mo for example was relegated to shooting 3s, when they should have had him post up more.

Lin is the key to our success in the playoffs. We need him to provide offense when he enters the game and the starters need rest. I really wish we had a reserve big that could give us a spark like Landry did :(

    Harden is unbelievable.

We are so freaking lucky to have landed him.

Harden is a bit similar to pre-injury and crazy Agent Zero in that he will just jack up long threes while dribbling up to the court and have the skills to sink them. Then there is that step back midrange jumper that is just SICK!

Just watched two offensive foul on Lin, never see anything like that, especially the second one on kicking.

Yea dude, I wouldn't call chenjy9 a LOH, but he is definitely a Lin skeptic. But either way, the minutes that Canaan has played for the Rockets, few as they are have been honestly a little scary to watch, not just tonight, but in that game against Cleveland too. I'm in more of a win now mode or at least go as far as we can this year for the experience. Now is not the time to try to develop a rookie fresh from D-league, and next year the team will be different again.

But chenjy9, I hope you see a little how hostile some people on this board are to any positive mention of Lin. I hardly ever post any opinion on Lin due to my join date, despite the fact that I've been a Rockets fan since 1991. It's not worth the potential hassle.

I wonder if Casspi and Garcia's regression is due to lack of playing time? Hard to get into a rhythm if you play once every 2 weeks.

Other way around. Their lack of playing time is due to their regression. However you can't improve you don't play.

It's a vicious cycle though, if McHale intends to play them in the playoffs, he needs to play them now, otherwise I don't see how they are going to contribute in the playoff run.

Garcia and casspi have had their minutes and chances, they are what they are, end of the bench players.

Lin is our only spark off the bench, along with dmo sometimes. I was against playing Lin off the bench at the beginning of the season but if he started we would have no bench at all
