Huh? I thought it was keyed more by Harden going nuts at the end of the third, and he, Parsons and Bev hitting late game daggers.

Depends on how you look at it. Watching the game, it was Harden, Parsons, and Beverley that stepped up and put it away. In my humble opinion.

But, we've added a lot more than just Howard. Beverley here the entire year. TJones and DMo now at PF. And just all our players getting to go through an entire training camp and preseason together made a big difference. I don't think Howard should get all the credit for a ten game improvement. I think he's been a part of it, but I think the Rockets would have improved over last year even if we had never acquired Howard and Asik had been healthy and played in his place the entire year.

    http://montgomerysportsgroup.com/jeremy-lin-delivering-spark-off-bench/

It gives us a potent scorer coming off the bench, which is great. His turnovers are down. He’s doing a lot of really great things.

“We’re going to take a look at this and use him for a big spark off the bench. He’s going to usually play the same amount of minutes, just at different times.”

    now you may STFU

According to Morey last year, he expected a 5 game improvement last year to this year if they did NOTHING.

That's just based off the age of the roster, the natural growth curve for the players, the experience on the court playing together, an additional pre-season, and increasing familiarity with the schemes and coaching staff.

In other words, you could just as easily argue that Dwight added 3-7 games as you could argue 10 in terms of the win total.

Where we'll *really* see if Dwight is all he's cracked up to be is the play offs and next season's regular season. Right now it's just too hard to separate Dwight on the roster and the natural growth of the roster.

So we are not missing Carlos Delfino from last year or the contributions of Greg Smith and Marcus Morris and Toney Douglas before they were traded? Soooo all that was irrelevant last year during the season right?

He stepped up when we needed him to, that's all that matters.

    harden and parsons did.

we won the game tho to end the third when dwight picked up his 4th foul. we finally started running the offense through harden instead of dwight and he delivered. weren't we down 1 or up 1? and then as soon as we start getting it to james, we're up 10 after 3.

A game like this is a loss for most previous Rockets teams since the championship years. This team can withstand a lot of mistakes and still win, and when they are hitting on all cylinders, hard to beat. I thought several players played poorly, the Bobcats played hard, still lost.

I think more and more it's beginning to show that whether it's Bev or Lin who gets playing time, it matters much less than what many people think. The volume of arguments on this really does not justify the significance or lack of it in the overall Rockets goals. Maybe for the Lin fans they want to see more of Lin on the court no matter the score, the situation or the need, and for Lin haters they want Beverley no matter how poorly he is playing. Both have had up and down games and lately it has mattered much less with the core guys healthier.

The core of Harden, Howard and Parsons have reached a point where they are healthier than earlier in the season and more comfortable with each other and it shows in their play and ability to deliver in crunch time. Harden mostly has shown an extra spring in recent weeks and has established himself as the go to guy without question.

I totally agree, trade him when he still has value. Ask ball all the time, doesnt do all the little thing Asik is willing to do. Overrate #1 center in my eyes, just my opinion though.

not to mention harden has really improved. it's noticeable when you watch our closeout situations from this year and last.

Even with Parsons struggling lately, nobody on the bench even comes close to his production. Hamilton can't do anything when the defender closes out on his 3-pointers, even has trouble passing the ball back out. Casspi is careless with the ball and has been in a long shooting slump. Garcia is out for "personal reasons". Nobody is really able to backup Parsons.

So this is what McHale did at the Timberwolves practices.

Took care of business. I know Bev has been shooting better lately but I dont like him leading the team in 3 point attempts.

We also rebound the ball better with Asik when Dwight is out. That was key to winning this game, stopping all the Bobcats' 2nd chance points.
