I'm not sure how many people realize that Joe Montana played at 205 lbs. But he was drafted before the combine, and all the over analysis that goes with it, existed.

I understand your point, but my point is those guys don't work for ACTUAL NFL TEAMS they work for our entertainment. They're not the ones that are actually going to coach and develop the players and or know exactly what the coaches want and or looking for. If NFL teams used their rankings they could save money in their scouting and GM departments.

And combine, pro days, and individual workouts can make a difference.

Defenders destroyed qbs in the pocket in Montana's day

    That doesn't happen now

Like I said, the world and the people in it or bigger now and so are defensive players (faster and more athletic too). One good hit from one of them dudes is a scary thought. But that was a more barbaric era back then.

The only way I'd be supportive of the Bridgewater pick would be in the second round.

That game tape was primarily against AAC competition....

can't risk the 1-1 pick on a rail thin kid who's could get snapped in two

One curious observation i'd like to make...Bridgewater did not throw with his gloves on...not sure if that makes a difference, but for a QB that usually plays with the gloves on, I think it couldve led to some of those wobbly throws...

The change in weather more than likely also affected the spin on the ball. He was getting used to throwing down in Florida in hot humid weather and more than likely was doing well, without gloves. Then he traveled all the way to Louisville where the cold makes the ball a little tougher to toss around, without gloves.

Regardless, you do what got you there and he should have thrown with gloves.

I'm not worried about his pro day one bit and he hasn't shown a smidgen of worry either, rightfully so.

He said he made a decision to not wear the gloves while training. He made that decision and is happy with it but going forward for the individual team workouts he will wear the glove.

He didn't make any excuses but he said it's about doing what got you there so the gloves are back on. It sounded like he wanted to show he could throw without the glove but if he had to do it all over he would have worn the glove.

Well all of the others are from here and if RW is his ceiling, he's not worth a first round pick.
