The Rockets need a stud PF that does not need the ball to score, can play D, give blocks, and be a leader and a big athletic SG that can guard Kobe. Guess the two players I am talking about - E. Brand and C. Maggette. The Clipps need a PG and C since Miller and Olowokandi are as good as gone. I propose the Rockets ship Cato, SF, and change (a future pick or Mobley) in a sign and trade for Brand, Maggette, and the 5th pick. We use the pick for T.J. and have starting lineup of TJ, Maggette, Possey/Boki, Brand, and Ming. The bench will be Taylor, T. Morris, Mobley. Brand would serve as the backup center ala Otis T did for Akeem. Tell me this lineup could not compete for the crown.

That is an interesting trade proposal...two things though...

    1. No way the Clips trade for a guy making the max.
    2. We would be lottery bound with that team for at least another season or two.

I don't think we would be lottery bound with a front line of Posey, Brand and Ming. But we wouldn't get pass the 2nd round coz of the backcourt.

keep the team as it is. With the lineup we have we can beat any team one-on-one. Its just most teams are afraid to play the Rockets one-on-one because they're cowards! take Dallas for example, full of cowards who are nothing without their teammates. Keep the team as it is, and any team who dare face the Rockets individual skills with one-on-one defenses will be humilated with numerous highlight plays.

Trade proposal makes us the Houston Clippers and them the L.A. Rockets. All players you have named are young and need a system implemented that they can be successful with. (E. Brand is the only exception. A. Miller is a hell of a point guard, but him being with the clippers this year just confirmed to me that the younger players who are extremely talented still cant turn teams around themselves with out coaches who implement systems that will make the TEAM as a whole excel. J.Kidd/Shaq/ are the only two players in the league that I think can single handedly turn a team around.

    lol....

Well.....NBA basketball is now a team game.....

    COACHING CHANGE!!!!

Francis, Cato, and Mobley for Brand, Maggette, and their pick would be very good for the Rockets.

    With a rookie PG, a 2nd year C, and a non-franchise level PF?

    In the West?

Our chances would be slim to none at breaking the top 8...without a doubt...

Man, this is a tough crowd. We MIGHT miss the playoffs again next year with Ford, Maggette, Posey, Brand & Ming starting and MoT, TMo, Rice, Griff, Boki, and Mooch as backups. But you certainly would have improved basketball INTELLIGENCE on the court with Brand and TJ added to Ming's court awareness. Posey and Maggette would be scrapping with them and moving without the ball and playing tough D. I think we would definitely be a better team. I think the Clippers might also be a better team and wouldn't end up just LOSING all of their players. If they lose all 3 of their potentially max players (Brand,Miller, Olowokandi), they can afford to add one with Francis. A lineup of Francis/Richardson, Dooling/Jaric, Odom, Ely/Wilcox, and Cato/Ely/Parks is no slouch. Particularly with veteran Mobley coming off the bench. I really think this is a win for both teams. Particularly since a REAL PG isn't what the Clipps need since they have Odom getting 5 assists as well.

The Clippers owner is famous for not paying his players...there is no way he takes Steve's contract. It would go totally against what he's been doing for the last 10 years.

I do think that the Rockets could potentially be a better team if that trade did happen though. I don't think people have the patience to sit through more lottery years though...

CajunHorn is correct. The Rockets' basketball IQ would make a huge jump. We need more savy players. Instead of the Houston Clippers, as some have proposed, the Rocks would play like the Sac Kings.

Mobley plays d on the elite SGs as well as anyone, and certainly better than Maggette. Just take out Cato and Maggette, and for the change use the future pick and not Mobes and that is a good trade. I don't think they would give us their first rounder in this deal though, so it would have to be their second rounder.

stop saying TJ.. TJ is a good pg but we have enough young legs out there! the rocs have the second most youngest team in the nba. if we need some improvement, we need experience. we need vets. but not vets like malone or some other vets that were drafted even before i was born!

Well if we do that trade I would not want to pick up TJ with the draft pick. Here is a thought though, since Brand and Maggette played at Duke why not bring in Jay Williams? Trade the rights of TJ for Williams. Then trade Griffin for Shane Battier.

    C-Yao, China
    PF-Brand, Duke
    SF-Battier, Duke
    SG-Maggette, Duke
    PG-Williams, Duke

    btw I'm joking....

believe me man, when the rocs have a championship (crossing my fingers) with stevie and yao carrying the squad, those haters will be like charles barkley on yao ming. they'll have eggs on their heads and they would be PRO-FRANCIS in an instant and forget all the mistrust, misjudgment, and harsh words they said when they were FRANCIS-HATERS. its just how things goes.........

Unless Francis's game changes dramatically, any championships with him on the squard will be won IN SPITE of him, not because of him. You don't deserve the name Franchise when you only play half of the game.
