I still find it weird that he was a Civil Rights Lawyer and ran for Governor of Kansas in 1990 as a Democrat . Anyway, A small part of me hopes that people picket and protest his funeral so maybe the rest of his clan will know what its like. But a bigger part of me thinks that nobody should stoop to his level and hopefully his "church" will eventually go away without his leadership.
No, you are right. I didn't, either. I should have just said "taking matters into your own hands." Ni a la madre, ni al padre, ni al hijo, ni al primo... ni nada de nada a nadie. Thank you.
Idk....You kind of went off the deep end there. I'm just saying I've been the bigger man many times and too many times ended up being the whipping boy while others went off scott free. I learned my lesson, and just won't sit around anymore while others never have to worry about learning their lesson.
And that's what I mean. You are not the law of the land, man. They will get their due. Continue to be the bigger man as long as they aren't interfering with your life. You know?
And just who exactly will give them their due? What does it mean to be the bigger man? You say the golden rule, I agree. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Im good to all people I meet. If someone does me wrong, I do unto them what they have done unto me. This is why bullies get away with so much for so long. Because people don't say enough is enough. They say, "They'll get what's coming to them" and turn their face to the situation. That's fine with me if that's what you believe in, but don't try to tell my that I'm doing something wrong. I'll live my life as I see fit. Nobody has that right to judge me, unless you are willing to be judged right back
^ We will ALL become mean to each other if we turn on each other, is my belief. It will be a never-ending chain. No one is judging you at all but I'm willing to step in and let you know that you're not teaching or doing what you're preaching.
I just don't agree with that. We won't all be mean to each other. Like I said, I treat everyone good, until they wrong me.
I was reading that some gay rights leaders think he helped their movement by forcing people to confront the truly hateful side of the anti-gay issue. I think what might be better is instead of picketing Fred Phelps funeral gay rights groups should instead show up to thank him for helping advance the cause of Gay rights and do so in the most flamboyant way possible. The Westboro Church thrives on hatred and they probably fully expect to be protested so why not show them some and see how they handle that.
Mr. Phelps was excommunicated from the Westboro Church some time ago... so he was no longer aligned with them when he passed away. He was a very productive lawyer, and helped a number of african americans defend their civil rights in the past. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. RIP
I heard that also but I wonder if he was excommunicated because he didn't share the hate part of their belief system. If he did truly change for the better in his last years of life I commend him.
