Hey, I was curious if anyone knew of what photo editing software that I could use that is not only rather easy to figure out, but is not very expensive. I want to be able to not only do basic editing, but also have the ability to cut and paste from one picture to the next. I mean I am no rockHEAD here - just need it for some simple tasks. So if there is any you can recommend, I would appreciate it.

For something REALLY simple, check out Irfanview. It's an image viewer that has a small amount of editing tools. They're all REALLY EASY to use, and it will do most of what any average user would want.

here are a few basic photo editors - there are quite a few to choose from. I would suggest going to download.com and doing a search over there, maybe you can find a free one?

Microsoft Photo Editor (very basic)
Paint Shop Pro - decent program, under $100
Corel PhotoPaint - you can get version 9 for under $100 (this is what I use)
Adobe Photo Elements - very basic stripped down version of Photoshop
Arcsoft Photo Studio - usually comes free with some digital cameras, someone you know may have a copy

Its easier to use than Photoshop or Corel IMHO.
I love the thumbnail browser.
I love its GIF animator.
