This is a preposterous statement at best. You are trying to insinuate that Dragic didn't make the playoffs here while Lin did when both were starters.

Lin was playing alongside the best SG in the league in Harden and a top 7-8 center Asik (top 5 defensive). Dragic was playing with Courtney Lee and one of Dally or Camby LOL

I would be homer if I said Lin was that now or close to that now but that would be far from the truth. No rose colored glasses here.

The realities are that Morey gave Lin the contract he has now.
So do you believe Morey projected his best case upside to be Kirk Hinrich or Dragic with the contract he was given? I'm pretty sure it was Dragic level at the time of the signing.

So I'm pretty comfortable the upside pick given that contract he was given, was what Morey and the Rockets had projected Lin to be in a Lin centric team.

Morey stated that the Rockets would not have made the playoffs if it was Lin.

That's a lot of money for a seventh option though, right? And the things that frustrate a lot of fans aren't going to be found in the stat line, agreed?

Also, I can find just as many "credible" sources that consider Lin an average player at best. IMO his ceiling is higher than average if he's consistent. I think 15/5 is attainable. I think anything exceeding that on a regular basis greatly improves this team.

    That's not the point.

Put in Dragic or any average PG in with Harden and Asik and Rockets would have still made the playoffs.

And stop taking everything Morey says as the legit fact. He has to justify Lin's ridiculous contract and has to keep building up that trade value.

Also true for any starter. Come on now, you know better than to try and use GM-speak as proof of player worth. There are better ways to prove Lin's value.

smh, I never compared lin to dragic making the playoffs. Im talking about DRAGIC hes had the chance and will have the chance this year again. I was saying how much HYPE he gets its like he took his team to the playoffs, harden has done that and deserves the hype. I just dont feel like Dragic deserves it yet, if SUNS make playoffs this YR I will then say ok dragic deserves the hype he gets on CF. Not saying he isn’t a great player im talking about the HYPE.

Lin hasn’t been in that situation but in NY & he produced, he turned that team around and they made playoffs when chances looked slim. He was a starter last yr of course harden did most of the work but he still helped. Last yr playoffs were determined by a few games… and there were plenty of games last season lin was best player in a WIN. Dragic has Bledsoe this year so we will see what happens.

Why always so much hate towards a certain rockets player? , I don’t get I, I’m being fair.. far from delusional

I remember all the times when Morey said he wouldn't be trading a player or planning anymore trades. :D

Do you complain about your company paying you too much money and then scaling back your workload because there are other good employees? No of course not, you play the good soldier and contribute to a winning cause like Lin.

Why do you have to take a glass half empty approach to his game? Can't we just appreciate that 2 Houston legends like JVG and Kenny, or even hubie brown think highly of Lin.

It doesn't take a genius to put 2 and 2 together. You have basically blamed Dragic for the Rockets not making the playoffs that year while ignoring all other circumstances like the supporting cast. In the mean time you have propped up Lin like there were no playoffs last year without him. Replace Lin with any average PG and we still make the playoffs last year.

Dragic deserves the hype. He was a consensus all star game snub. Lin has never come that close. What Dragic has done with a roster consisting of snubs and inexperience speaks volumes.

We can agree to disagree. Dragic is the much better player now and Lin is not close to Dragic even if you put him in any hypothetical situation you wish. To each his own.

What's funny is all this "hate" that Lin gets is completely the fault of his fan base, much like Tebow's media sufferings are the result of his crazy fans. If his, lets call them ardent, fans have not been so insistent in putting him on this pedestal of greatness and viciously attacking everyone they felt slighted their mediocre idol PG, he would not get nearly as much negative attention that he gets today. He is derided, ridiculed, and shunned by a good number of people simply due to how insane his fans are. Honestly, I feel Linsanity is the worst thing that could happen to Lin, because he got numerous garbage for fans and what we saw on CF was just a small scope of it. They are on Chronicle, ESPN, RealGM, etc. It is like a cancer in the basketball world.

Repped. The ironic part of the Lin Vs. Beverely debate is that it seems they are good friends. They probably laugh at the crap that posted on here.

This is silly. Criticizing fans? Without fans, there is no NBA, NFL, MLB...NHL (we can do without LOL)...emotional investment in our favorite teams and athletes is the very reason professional athletics even exist.

There's a difference between rockets fans and lin only fans.

Without Jeremy lin only fans, the nba will still exist and clutch fans for sure will be all about the rockets
