OK, you are a moron. I'm so sick of hearing that tired, lame-ass crap about GCN being for children. I know many adults that own and enjoy the games on this system. If you never wanted to give the games a try because you thought they looked kiddy, you're an ignorant ass, and you're missing out. Have you ever played a Mario game or Zelda game lately? Gameplay makes games good. If it wasn't for Nintendo, your PS2 or Xbox wouldn't even be around today. Plus, the graphics on GCN are twice as good as those on PS2, actually going by the specs, literally twice as good. GCN has much more capable hardware. If you don't believe me, play Metroid Prime or Resident Evil 0, or soon Geist or Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes. In reality, this is a pointless argument for either me or you because the differences in the graphical capablities of any of the systems is negligible. Oh, and online play is pointless in my opinion, but if you want it, Nintendo is bringing it now. For example, in Mario Kart, and some other upcoming games. But you know what I normally do when I want to play multiplayer games? I invite a friend over. Playing with someone you don't know over the net is just as enjoyable as playing with some AI. Another thing, Sega spent more on marketing their sports games last year than EA did (or maybe it was 2001). Yeah... that marketing muscle did a whole lot for them... Speaking of marketing, that's the only reason Xbox is even still alive right now. They have 1 good exclusive game: Halo. And finally, there was this survey conducted by 2 graduate research classes - 1 at MIT, 1 at some state school - that showed that showed that people who own Nintendo systems over the age of 16 are more educated than those who own others exclusively. Just food for thought. I know, this isn't an argument for you to buy the system, I'm just telling you, don't insult me for owning this system. Fact is that I bought this system because it has the most and best EXCLUSIVE games. My god, that was the b****iest way to respond to what I said... My apologies for going so far off-topic... and I really dont' want to start a big argument about this - I just can't stand people like that.
Jesus Christ! Well what if I have an X Box, PS2, GameCube, Dreamcast, SuperNES, all the Gameboys, and the original Nintendo???? Anyways...Gamecube was also cheaper too! But it's not too popular. Sorry..but most people like PS2. I like X Box. Gamecube...Supersmashbrosmelee and Metroidprime are good games..............what else? No sports games.
Hey, I never said I had a problem with people who own other systems, cuz I certainly don't... but I guess I could see how what I said could sound like that, haha. What I have a problem with is people dismissing the GCN as being kiddy before even REALLY trying any of their games. MP and SSBM are not in the least the only good games. Your saying that makes me believe that you're one of those people who likes only "adult" games. Try Super Mario Sunshine, Zelda: Wind Waker, Animal Crossing. GCN is also the king for party games (Mario Party, Monkey Ball, and their soon-coming sequels). And if you're too cool for those, try Eternal Darkness or Resident Evil 0 or soon Geist or MGS: Twin Snakes. And they have some strong stuff comin up, too... By the way, I despise the Xbox!!! Just cuz I hate Microsoft, and I don't think there's more than about 1 good game on that system. Anways, this needs to stop. I sound like a big walking advertisement for Nintendo, heh heh. I'm sure this was a completely scientific poll too?! Anyways, if I hurt your feelings by poking fun at your Nintendo Gamecube, then I do apologize. Heh, your first post was a lot nicer... I woulda been able to just leave it at that... Anyways, yeah, it was a subjective statement, just like what you said about GCN's graphics sucking. The FACT I was referrring to was that GCN is a more powerful machine than the PS2... and it actually has 4 controller slots, too, and about as much online connectivity as the PS2 as well, possibly even more soon. I could really care less about online playability, though. And the classes I was talking about hardly conducted a poll. When someone says "poll" I think of like a multiple choice questionairre... I don't really know the full definition, but it was a wee bit more in-depth. And yeah, I get a little defensive when people call the GCN kiddy. I can deal with people just plain ol not liking the games on it (but that's almost not possible), but when they call them kiddy, it gives me the idea that they never gave them a real chance.
Just get NBA live 2004 for your PC and the graphics will be much smoother and better looking than any console out there.
From what I have heard, sega is turning arcade for next year and Live is turning to simulation. If true I'll have to go with the simulation(Or the game with the rockets new unis and stadium in it) BTW, Inside Drive for XBOX will be great also.
Yeah, but people who've played the games I'm talking about like most of them. My point wasn't which games people were buying, I know which ones people buy - the ones that look the coolest.. People don't give GCN a chance because they thing they're too cool or mature to play their games. Those people are morons.
It is amazing, isn't it? I suppose research done about which diaper brand most mothers prefer or other market research is more scientific in some way? It was a special interest study. Nothing more to it. They were learning statistics at the same time they were learning about something they were curious about and thought other people might be curious about. If you're saying videogames shouldn't be taken seriously, why the hell not? It's all about entertainment... Edit: Sorry for the double post... I don't really have a legitimate excuse, just sorta wasn't paying attention... so, yeah, sorry. Rockets_Truth - that idea would only work if you had a pretty high end computer, heh heh. That's the thing about consoles. They just feel like they take longer to get outdated, plus they're cheaper, and you can have multiplayer fun easier. Just MHO.

don't read too much into what i said. all i said was it was amazing how some people can turn a topic about what game is good into a scientific research report. i know some kids in cs classes actually wrote term papers on the subject of video game systems. i just find it amazing how intense and passionate they can be about nintendo and other video game systems. for some people, their lives apparently are devoted to gamepro, and egm too much.

I just love the Big N and videogames (like I said, I kinda wanna work for them... hopefully they have room for someone with my major). I just love them because they provide entertainment - the only thing that makes life worth living, of course.
