This makes no sense if you know about what basketball is. The most effective Rockets play is the breakaway dunk. It's like 100% effective. Why don't they run that all the time? Because teams play defense, of course. There are two teams that play on the court. If they aren't running a certain play, it's because the other is preventing them from doing it. The Rockets offense involves what the defense allows. The reason why superstars are superstars is because they can bypass that. Jeremy Lin, other than his Linsanity period, has never proven to do that consistently.

The guy is one of the top PNR players in the league, one of the top drivers in the league and his mid range shot is money. He is clearly a special offensive player. Maybe not in the same league as Harden but it could be argued that the Rox could use him more effectively than he has been used.

It it what it is. I guess most of us will just have to wait and see how it pans out to settle the arguments. As has been stated before unless things change dramatically and drastically he won't be a Rocket for long anyway.

This isn't just against you personally, but just in general why discussions with LOFs tend to delve into chaos.

The problem is that LOFs seem like Fox News. They start with a false and extreme premise, so that even moderate points seem like "hating" and "bias against Lin."

So here you start with the premise that the Rockets don't run Pick and Roll plays for Lin.

But what is the truth?

We don't seem to be watching the same player. I like Lin a lot but you make him sound like he is potentially in the ball park of some of the elite PG's in the league. I think in the case of Lin fan oriented strong feelings of brotherhood clearly overshadows logical thought.

Lol those things I mentioned are all supported by stats. He has his weaknesses i.e. turnovers, but offense ain't one of them.

But hey, your eye test clearly trumps the numbers.

Look at Dragic's number, get an idea of how many poss. a guard who excels at PnR played PnR...

If Lin and Howard are on the floor, and the data shows the P&R between them is effective, then why not go straight to that? Of course, that would entail for him to be a 2nd option and that's obviously not his role on this team. Also, if a team isn't running a certain play, it's not always because of the defense. It could be because the team just isn't going to run that play. If Harden, Lin and Howard are on the floor, then majority of the time, the Rockets will run plays between Harden and Howard. That's just the dynamic of this team and any team with a big man/wing man star duo.

I would argue about the consistency of Lin, but we all know everyone has made up their own mind about him so that's kind of pointless.

Also that Lin is #4 in PnR points per possession yet it's run an extremely low amount.

Rockets point guards also seem to do best AWAY from Houston for some reason (Lowry, Dragic).

at this point it's an obvious pattern. I expect the same from Lin once he leaves.

Not really. Those PG did bad before they got here. Everyone knew how good Lowry and Dragic were here.
