Not all Raptors fans are happy about the possibility of Bosh returning. They would rather pick more players that could play within the system and look forward to the 2015 for a max player.
Ross has George's number, so PG was never that big of a problem in the first place. The real problem is Hibbert. Raptors only have one true C and he is too young and inconsistent. Their PF depth, as great as it is, all undersized compared to Hibbert. Perhaps, an addition like Kaman (or whoever else available) would tip the scale a bit more towards Raptors, assuming they make it to the 2nd round without faltering.
Those Barneys fans are delusional if they think anyone better than Bosh will sign there in 2015. I sure hope they are a small minority. Out of curiosity, what players did those fans have in mind for 2015? This should be good for a laugh.
I know a lot of them are hoping for Durant in 2016. Apparently Durant said he wanted to be a Raptor as a kid. Anyway, I suspect the Bosh thing is a mix of bad feelings and underrating him. I know a Raptors fan who thinks that Bosh is not good enough and too old, yet he wants them to sign Millsap.
Bosh: 20M/year Millsap: 10M/year I would take Millsap over Bosh as well. The difference in skill is not worth the extra 10M.
Perhaps. However, how would you like me to compare their current worth? I think looking at their current performance and their current salary is a valid way to do it. Then again, I don't think they care. It is not like Raptors are lacking in PF depth. What they need is a veteran C to fill in when Valanciunas is not feeling it and possibly someone to fill Salmons' role off the bench since he is 7m next year with only 1m guaranteed. Raptors is getting crazy good game by game but they need to figure out who they can keep in the off season and for how much.
Damn, that's essentially the Rockets winning percentage. Quite impressive even in the East. The East has been slightly better recently after tanking early in the season. Well, the middle of the East has gotten better and the top is playing worse. I hope the Knicks/Cavs make the playoffs instead of the Hawks.
Not sure I understand this question. You mean, how to predict their next salaries as free agents? It's just educated guessing. If someone's current contract looks ridiculously cheap for his play, then chances are he could get a raise. I get an impression their ambitions are higher than a backup to Jonas Valanciunas and someone to play Salmons role. They can add a max player over the next few years, and I fully expect them to pursue one.
All of this happened after the Raptors traded Rudy Gay for spare parts and everyone thought they were tanking the season. Meanwhile, Sacramento is the worst team in the Western Conference.
Oops, Sacramento isn't the worst team, although they were a few days ago. They're now 3rd from bottom, 1.5 games ahead.
Yeah but we are talking about now and not the future. You can only get them through a trade (however unlikely) and they would come with the existing contracts. Masai definitely will. I think he is trying to figure out if Derozan has what it takes and whether Ross is going to take over. Not to mention Val is only 21 years old. My comments were more about the short term than long term plans. Not every team can follow Morey's "3 superstars or bust" plan.
