lolll, then we should encourage people's moms and grannies to take photos with Lin too. Group photos even.
This raises an important philosophical issue, the problem of vagueness along a spectrum or continuum. At what point does a hottie cross over the boundary between hottie and not-hottie? There is no distinct dividing line, even though comparing both ends of the spectrum the difference is clear. Greek philosophers referred to this as the "sorites paradox." Sorites comes from the Greek word for 'heap,' or 'pile.' Start with one grain of sand and add a grain. Is it now a pile of sand? No. Keep adding grains of sand, one at a time. When do the grains become a pile of sand? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sorites_paradox Or try it in reverse, different example: start with a full head of hair. Remove the hair, one strand at a time. At what point do you cross the line between having hair and being bald? For Clutch I suspect it was around Age Nineteen. So yummyhawtsauce, in response to your objection: no, we should not encourage people's moms and grannies to take photos with Lin too. That would simply be stupid.:grin: Philosophically speaking, that is. It's the Paradox of the Hottie.
It's kinda creepy how you people finding pictures of some girls with Jeremy Lin and then talk about it. What if it was your daughter and you found out people posted a photo of your daughter in some forum and talked about whether she is hot or not. It's kinda creepy in my opinion, don't you think? I'm just saying...
not 26/5 but at least a 14/5. enough to solidify the bench production. if no new pictures present themselves before the miami game, it's up the starters to win the game for us. but there are a lot of hotties in miami so the chances are good.
lolll. well according to MY standard she may not be a hottie. she is fairly plain and average, so I guess Lin will have an average game or slightly above average. But yes - you are correct, it's all relative, but if I am judging this girl's photo compared to the rest of the girls that Lin has posed with - she's not ranked very high. But what if suddenly he had linsanity type numbers if he posed with grannies and moms? what then?
What about the meme's people keep posting? lol that's also someone's son/daughter/uncle/aunt etc. It's the internet. Everything is up for grabs. Welcome to the land of the Trolls. *insert troll face*
So because it's the internet you think it's okay to let this continue? Everything you said is true, I'm not saying otherwise. But in my opinion it's creepy for people to specifically look for girls that are taking a photo with Lin and then post it in a forum and then talk whether she is hot or not. She might even be a minor or she might not be, I don't know. But in my opinion it's just creepy to take someone else's picture, post it on a forum, then let strangers judge the girl's look. In your opinion that is not creepy to you? That's fine if you don't think so. You are entitled to your opinion, just as I have my opinion on this.
Expecting Lin to have a "meh" performance on Sunday base on girl's hotness level, unless new girl shows up.
well, CLEARLY that would be a statistical anomaly. But of course we would have to rigorously test that using advanced cluster analysis techniques.
Yes it's creepy - but you have to realize, it is on twitter, it is open to the public and it is a social media tool so everyone knows that it will be subjected to all sorts of trolls and comments. This is offtopic and last thing I will say, but it is unfortunate the internet has become a way for people to lash out and reveal their 'true' feelings or be inappropriate without real repercussions.
