Somehow I doubt that. Langhi hasn't gotten the chance to start and play a lot like Porter has (GS has been swamped with injuries) so how would you know that Porter is better even now. When you get drafted, you better hope you go to a team that can give you playing time. That was with Mobley a couple of years back, and the same is with Porter this year. Imagine if Mobley was taken by the Lakers or Suns...with no place to play...he would never have made it in the NBA. And I feel, there are several players that may have fallen through the system ------------------
I admit I wanted Porter with are 2nd round pick when it came up but I am happy with Langhi even though he hasent got any minutes.I still think Langhi is going to be a big surprise in this league but at the 55th pick I think Porter will be to. No I don't know that. Porter has come in as a result of players getting hurt and had a few good games. Langhi could do that for us too if we had him playing that many minutes. I think Langhi will be much much much better than Porter. i would take porter over langhi, just because i have always like his game and followed him closely, but im not in a position to say that he WILL be better than Langhi because like cat pointed out when you get minutes you produce.
I love Langhi, but Porter has more game. Porter is good now, and has proven he can play VERY well at the NBA Level. Langhi has not. I always knew porter would be a good player. i was shocked to see him fall that low on draft day. he took money to help his mom.. im still lost on those who say he cant shoot worth a crap. sorry but his shot looked very nice i thought. porter is a superb athlete and i have to go w/ the majority and pick him over langhi. if he could extend his range to 3 pointers man he would be awesome. he is a gifted gifted athlete. superb pick by golden st. there is a reason auburn was #1 at a time last season w/ him. i begged houston to pick him in my mock drafts but NOOOOOO. heh. langhi might turn out good tho. but i like chris porter alot. ------------------ --TEX

Thank goodness for that. Collier is outplaying Dermarr to this point, and if we got Dermarr Cuttino would have left. Apparently his agent said that if the Rockets drafted an SF "swingman" type, Cat was as good as gone. (Remember Shandon has to get his minutes too, and if you get another SF where is Shandon going to play? Well, the answer is at SG, which takes time away from Cat) So it's either Dermarr (who wasn't even available, just hypothetically if he was) or Cat/Collier. Pretty damn easy choice if you ask me. That guy was killing us last night and I have never heard of him before. Porter sure made Rudy feel bad because Rudy could have drafted him in the second round but instead he drafted Langhi.....

Cat, I really fail to see the category, other than 3pt shooting, in which Langhi is better than Porter...Porter is NBA ready, Porter was supposed to be a lottery pick, and would've been if not for all the injuries..Porter plays GREAT defense, he runs the floor superbly and hussles like hell....Not to mention he crashes the boards repetetively....I'd take Porter over any SF on our team, Walt & Shandon included....I prefer shandon playing the 2....If we could trade Walt and Bull for Porter (salaries are WAY off), I'd do it in a heartbeat.....The guy has, as DaDakota puts it, IT.......... ------------------ [This message has been edited by Sane (edited December 16, 2000).]
