People still like Oklahoma City? I think people liked OKC because they weren't the Lakers and didn't have Lebron, and the fact that Durant has some Texas ties. I've always respected their game, but hate durant and Westbrook. I think Scott Brooks sucks as a coach and people are giving him unnecessary credit just because he was a former rocket. Lebron went face, and Durant went heel. I said that last season.
OKC is a team that are pretty beatable come playoff time. I'm pretty confident in my Rockets to take these guys in 6 or 7 games. Remember we played in their arena where the ref likes to blow whistles up OKC asses but when they come down to the H-town, the rockets will be ready. Remember this is regular season not the playoffs. The playoffs is a different animal and even bring on the Clippers while you're at it.
Lol maybe it's because its the Dish. But I made a thread similar to this in the GARM (Omri or Paul George :grin and got absolutely ripped for it. Maybe it's a GARM thing.
The West is so tough right now. I think you can make a credible case for 5 teams winning the West that can also win the championship: SA, OKC, LAC, HOU, GS. GS looks like it might finish ahead of Portland to get the #5 spot. OKC and SA will battle it out for the #1/2, and Houston and the Clips will fight it out for the #3/#4.
I laughed until I saw the thread creator. Then I realized it wasn't funny, and my first reaction had been wrong.
People liked OKC when the Rockets sucked because KD went to UT. It's the same reason why people liked the Titans when the Texans sucked and they had VY. The Longhorn University has a great marketing program.
The Rockets should trade half of their team and all their young talent for a close to retired Barkley to match up with OKC. That really worked out before so lets try it again. (Oh... wait, it didn't work and diminished the effectiveness of Hakeem... hmm). Maybe the Rockets should just worry about making their best players better than worrying about match ups against one team in a league of 30 teams.
In the same era of MJ doesn't mean fans shouldn't enjoy their Malone's or Barkley's. IMO Thunder is building a dynasty still with loads of potential, but I just hope we do better to challenge.
The Pacers have a team built entirely around stopping the Heat, and they still might not be able to do it this year because Lebron, Bosh, and Wade are that freaking good. Just because the Rockets have a chance doesn't mean that they are better than everyone else. The Rockets are going to need some luck, and some good match-ups to make the finals just as the Rockets teams of the past, the 2011 Mavericks, the 07 Celtics, the 02 Pistons, etc. etc. had to get in order to make and win a championship. Go ask the Celtics fans if they should not enjoy their 07 title because the 2nd best player on Lebron's team that year in the East was Ilgauskas.
I'm trying to count how many " is it time to take the ........... seriously" you create like every other day. you used to be my fav poster. Is it time for Clutchfans to take you seriously?
