Griffin, and after the last 20 or so games it's not even close. Better defender, better overall offensive game, he's just more efficient with the ball in his hands.

Add that to the fact that he carried that team without Paul for a few weeks and actually gained ground in the standings in his absence. Meanwhile the Wolves are still mired in .500 purgatory.

I just don't see where this Kevin Love nut hugging comes from.

It's griffin and it's not even close. By far the best PF in the game. Dominant and wins.

    Love is just empty stats

The Clippers roster is much better than the Wolves roster. If you put Love on the Clippers next to Jordan they probably wouldn't skip a beat and I don't think the Wolves would have a much better record with Griffin. The Wolves don't have one decent bench player on that entire roster and they have zero shooters minus Kevin Martin and an often injured Budinger. Love is the only reason they are even at .500.

While you're right about the bench as it now stands, with Paul and Reddick out they were starting a lineup of Collison, Green, Barnes, Griffin and Jordan and bringing Crawford off the bench to play point (not his natural position). This is before they had Granger and Big Baby so their bench was still mostly Crawford, Dudley (who is having a terrible season) and the likes of Randy Bullock and Ryan Hollins. That is not a lineup that is blowing me away with talent. They went 12-3 in that stretch and averaged 110 points a night. Griffin carried that team, plain and simple. Love has simply never done that over any stretch in his career.

Redick played in 13 of the 18 games that Paul missed and team went 12-6 without Paul. The Clippers were 9-4 in the games with Redick and 3-2 in the games without him so I'm not sure where the 12-3 is coming from Also, only 5 of their 12 wins during the 18 game stretch came against teams with winning records and only one of those wins came without JJ Reddick. You can't give Griffin and co credit for playing well without Redick because they didn't.

Ask yourself this, how many players from the Wolves roster would you actually be excited about if they were cut from the Wolves and signed by the Rockets not counting Kevin Love? I honestly think I would only be excited about Pek. There are about 4-5 guys from the Clippers that I would be happy about not counting Blake.

Griffin looked like a top 3/4 player in Paul's abscence. I like Love but Griffin is just a better player.

Been saying Gridfin forever. However, I want to see Love out of Minny. Would be nice if his game translated to major winning.

Isn't it about time you change that sig?? Both teams have undergone some major retooling since 2008.

To build a team: Blake (not really close IMO)

    On the Rockets: Love

    What?
    Love last 20 games: 29.9 ppg, 13.3 rpg, 4.2 apg, 2.6 TO, TS 61.8%
    Griffin last 20 games: 28.1 ppg, 8.8 rpg, 3.7 apg, 3.0 TO, TS 60.4%

Listen, both Griffin and Love are great players. However, looking at the stats, I have no idea why anyone would say that based on the last 20 games, it's 'not even close'. I still think that Love is the best PF in the game, but Griffin is very close.

I've never seen a top 5 player that can't get his team to the playoffs. On paper Love looks like he is top 5. Either, he is a paper tiger or Rubio is garbage and so is Pekovic....we know Martin is.

I would take Griffin without hesitation, sells tickets too and has entertainment value too too.

Kevin Love is a great player but I think a team is somewhat limited in how to shape a winning roster around him.

    1) He REQUIRES a top level defensive center next to him. Think Omer Asik, Joakim Noah, Tyson Chandler. These guys can cover for his mistakes on D while K. Love would take the rebound opportunities made available by them rotating.

    2) Often times at the end of the game a teams success is determined by their main guy being able to consistently beat whoever is guarding them one-on-one, and when/if the double team comes making the right play. I don't think Kevin Love is THAT good in a one-on-one setting. He's a great player, no question but I don't think he's the type of offensive player where you give him the ball and just let him goto work. Even when he rumbles for those 35/20 games he always gets his points in the flow of the offense (not a bad thing) using clever screens with Pekovic or Rubio.

If I could only choose one between the two I'd go with Griffin.

Yep its close. I take Blake by a hair since he is a better defender. Griffin is a much better defender this season. I even saw him guard Lebron for stretches. Love is a liability on D.

I would take Love, cause I feel like Griffin will turn into Amare 2.0 while Love does Not rely on athletism

People sure love to talk about fantasy when it comes to Kobe v. Lebron. They point to LeBron's PER and down play using Kobe's wins and rings because it's a team accomplishment. Love can't help that he has never played with another all star caliber player. That trash roster being above .500 right now is a testament to how good he is. I'd be willing to bet that the Clippers would have won a series the last two years if they had Love instead of Griffin in the playoffs.

Rubio is garbage. Pek is the only other good player on that team but he is nothing special. The Clippers have a better player at every position.

Blake Griffin isn't a better overall defender than Kevin Love, he's better man to man, but he's not that much better and even that's debatable (Love gives up less points on isolation, Griffin on post up), his coach also doesn't try to make him a rim protector at times, Love is a better team defender and he's the single best player in the nba at preventing second chance points.

The Clippers defense is designed the same way as the '11 Mavs, defensive center, defensive wing and a good defender at the pg to compensate for that their pf is integral for their offense but is also a crap defender, that Minnesota team, well that's what you get when you let Kahn and a coach build a team.
