Uh oh. Every time the Rockets get first place in these rankings, it seems like they go on an extended losing streak. I was almost rooting against this with Hell Week looming.

Clippers and Rockets are playing great. Spurs keep on trucking.

Wow! 1st place is really reactionary. Considering the Spurs have 3 less losses than us and are 9-1 in their last 10 games I don't think they should be in third place.

Seriously, I can't remember the last time Houston got the top spot of the ESPN or any ranking.

Spurs only meaningful win last week was vs Miami.

Houston on the other hand: Indy, Miami and Portland.

So yeah I think this is not truly reactionary but just realistic (pun intended).

Exactly, plus a 3-0 record against the Spurs this year should also be a factor.

As well based off our week last week, I am expecting a 2nd (more deserved) POTW honor for Harden.

Spurs also beat Dallas who beat both Portland and Indy in the past week therefore you can say they are playing better than two of our signature win teams.

I agree with Hollinger's ranking. Feels weird putting Rockets over a team they haven't beaten in 3 tries (not even really close either).

Quality of opponents. This is more than likely the Rockets' toughest stretch of the season and they are just rolling along.

By that logic, the LA Lakers beat OKC yesterday so they should be top 5!!!!

These rankings are worthless. All that matters is advancing in the playoffs.

You can't be afraid to succeed! This is the greatest thing that holds people back, FEAR! They are ranked #1 right now because they deserve it! It wasn't giving to them, they fought the big fights and came out on top! They now have to go to OKC/Chicago/Miami KNOWING that they have what it takes to slay the dragon! Fear? That crap belongs in DALLAS!!...

    GO ROCKETS!!!
