Amazing player. We were very lucky to have him, even if things didn't work out. Thanks for everything T-mac!
T-Mac a quitter? What does that make Yao in the playoffs before Artest got us out of the 1st round? A clubbed seal, which is what he looked like against Boozer in '07. Any true fan will tell you, Game 7 was because Yao got manhandled by Booozer.
As a Rockets fan, there are many good memories of McGrady. But the way he ended his career as a Rocket will forever tarnish his legacy. I would not put him alongside of the true Rockets legends, including Yao Ming. Scottie Pippen deserves a lot more hate than Tracy McGrady.
And Clyde played how many for the rockets? Number of seasons don't matter when you're talking about all time great players of a team. I'm sure you were peeing your panties when he was traded to the rockets so stop
Your whole post is ridiculous.. Scottie? Really? Maloney is more of a rocket legend than Scottie. So is pig Miller
There was a legit argument that drexlers number shouldn't be retired by the rockets because his best years were with the blazers However, he's from Houston, went to high school and college in Houston That was more of the reason . Houston loves houstonians Oh, tmac was better than Francis . He talked about championships etc, but failed to come close
2.1 Toronto Raptors (1997–2000) 2.2 Orlando Magic (2000–2004) 2.3 Houston Rockets (2004–2010) 2.4 New York Knicks (2010) 2.5 Detroit Pistons (2010–2011) 2.6 Atlanta Hawks (2011–2012) 2.7 Qingdao Eagles (2012–2013) 2.8 San Antonio Spurs (2013) It's sad he didn't finish off his career like yao...injured but go out with class rather than quit and go find scrub roles on bad teams.
By your definition, Yao was the guy who quit and gave up while T-Mac spent a few years extra trying to battle back like a true warrior.
Yao retired. Quitting is what mcgrady does . I thought he promised the good people of china a championship ? Oh well I guess it's hard when the best player in china is stephon Marbury . Oh by the way Love that you purposely left out a poll.
He became a Rockets legend the night he single-handedly beat the Spurs by scoring 13 in 30. To this day, it gives me hope when the Rox are down with little time left on the clock. It was incredible to see, and whatever happened later in his career is irrelevant. That single moment in basketball history is, and will always be legendary.
No it won't. I was at the Pistons game when he came back and they booed terribly. Then yesterday they announced him and he got a roaring elevation. Time heals and the positive outweighs the negative by far.
Tracy calls Houston his home and supports the Rockets. He was an absolute stud for Houston. Hope he continues to support the Rockets and become involved with the team in some form or fashion.
I've always respected Tmac and the skills he brought to the court. Unfortunately, like many have said, the closing is what people will remember most. He's still a Rockets legend in my eyes.
tracy mcgrady is definitely a rockets legend. anyone who doesn't like t-mac is not a true rockets fan.
I agree with you. However Pippen didn't bring his little monsters screaming bad romance when he couldn't lead us to a playoff series vicotry
