this reply?

Todays nba favour the perimeter guys and allow easier penetrqtion to the hoop. Before it was post driven. Im saying its a different game and lbj is well suited for todays game

That's not a response, that's a poorly composed tweet from somebody who doesn't know what they're talking about.

Defenses overall are *substantially* better now than they were then at stopping teams from scoring points. Fact.

The Bad Boy Pistons, though excellent in their offense-happy, poor-defense era, were a median-level team at stopping teams from scoring points, by today's standards. Fact.

That response from another stupid post of yours. Don't compare fg's between era's as a measuring stick of defense. It's comparing oranges to apples

I'm not comparing FG's, I'm comparing points per possession.

the fact is, contemporary teams (or players, for that matter) are equally likely to score points against today's Rockets on a given possession as corresponding teams/players were against the Bad Boy pistons.

    Fact.

It has the same effect. If you get better quality shots at a higher clip through the post (which suited the style of era and the rules at the time) per possesion.

The NBA has changed considerably since then, not only because of MJ's influence and rule changes...but just the evolution to now becoming more perimiter driven.

This is the kind of crap that makes it hard to root for Lebron.

LeBron blamed his bad shooting vs. Spurs (6-18) partially on sleeved jerseys. Wait a minute. Did you just say John Stockton was a better player than Kobe Bryant? Lol. Then in the same breath call Kobe fans "ignorant" for valuing rings? Wow. Dude just go away

Some of you need to stay away from any basketball related discussions

I don't blame him (completely). Anyone who plays basketball on a consistent basis knows that the smallest change in your self/body affects your entire game. On the contrary, he shouldn't be complaining about it. He's worn them before, and he should have put it upon himself to practice with it on. He had a valid point, but it's still his fault.

Did he also teach you how to rape a teenage girl?
Did he teach you, that if the cops ever question you about a rape, to say your friend (Shaq) has rapings at his house?
Did he teach you how to cheat on your wife?

Top 5 shooting guards of all time? Yeah he is probably in that group... MJ, West, Wade all better... Drexler, Gervin and Kobe can fight it out for the next 2 spots.

Jordan on top because of Championships and points (that is what they use to determine who wins after all).

LeBron close 2nd because of all-around game (big advantage in Rebs and Assists).

Kobe is not the 3rd best player ever, but he is 3rd on this list.

it rediculus to even put Kobe in the comparison.

what i really would like to c is Magic/Jorden /Lebron comparison (or even 5 man with Bird and KD added).
i personally regard Magic as the best ever so interested to c how his stats compared :)

and on a side note calling Kobe tough is a a bad joke, espaicelly when u remember that bird play an entire season with a BROKEN BACK ! and most of his career with a smashed hand.

This is why lots of players today care about their stats more than winning.

Lets be honest, there are a few fans that actually have legitimate arguments on Kobe. But most fans like the guy above me, PERSONALLY hate Kobe for reasons outside of basketball and will never accept Kobe as one of the GOAT's (yet try to come across as unbias). Pure hate. The post above is a perfect example of the logic most Kobe Haterz use when having a basketball debate. It never stops, smh.

Thanks Nook for showering us with your incredible basketball insight. We appreciate it:rolleyes:

So because one poster's personal dislike for Kobe affects his objectivity, you think the rest of us are the same way? How many posters have criticized Kobe on a personal level? And on a basketball level? Well, I guess it's easier blame "hate" than to accept the truth....Kobe is a great player, easily in the top 15 of the modern era, but he simply doesn't measure up against Jordan or Lebron.

Maybe you should spend more time in Lakersground. There's a 50 page thread about whether or not Kobe is a top 5 GOAT. It's very entertaining.

Yes....He was better on both sides of the ball than Kobe. It should be obvious really.

Trust me, he's not the only one:

John Stockton was a better basketball player than Kobe Byrant now:eek:

This has become a popularity contest. Let's face it, MJ, LBJ are more likeable guys compared to Kobe. More important things like talent of supporting casts, rule changes, prime years vs rebuilding years are looked over for stupid crap like "He's a rapist" lol. You guys let emotions take over when it comes to Kobe. This has nothing to do with basketball when it comes to rating Kobe.
