Yup! Before the Harden trade, I was resigned to an under 30 win season.

Acquiring Harden, the improved play of Parsons, and Asik turning out to be way, way, way better than I thought turned the team into low playoff seed, something the previous three squads couldn't even do.

You have to understand, us Rockets fans are not mad that he is injured or even that he is trying to play through injuries. What we are mad at are:

    - His piss poor decision making that has nothing to do with a back injury
    - The fact that he is hurting the team by playing through his injury or "funk"

Again, a back injury does NOT make you do the following as a player:

    - Drive blindly into traffic with no plan
    - Pick up your dribble with no plan
    - Jump up after picking up your dribble with no plan
    - Make a horrible pass that almost always results in a TO because you jumped up after picking up your dribble with no plan and you have to pass it at that point to avoid an up and down
    - Put your foot on the line when you know you need a three
    - Forcing a fancy pass instead of making the short smart pass

These are NOT the symptoms of a back injury. Not being able to jump or run, yes. Not being able to shoot or lift, yes. The ones mentioned above though are NOT AN INJURY ISSUE but a MENTAL ISSUE. Again, a back injury does NOT make you drive into traffic like a headless chicken and jump up with the ball.

If all of Lin's issues are actually, really caused by just a back injury, then he should simply not play. With the way he is right now, every time he steps on the court, he hurts the team.

No, it is not "stupid", but the opposite.

It's often boasted that Jeremy Lin is a Harvard graduate, that he had perfect math boards, and thus would develop a mature PG game. The comparisons have been Steve Nash or Tony Parker.

But I have seen enough of the 800 math, 500 verbal types. A 500 verbal would help explain the inability to make sound decision in a multivariate situation; e.g., the weird passes.

    And that's why I'm asking.

Jeremy Lin has now been a mediocre NBA player longer than he's been a good one.

Btw, I am not knocking a 500 verbal score. But people with 800/500 splits seem to never have the common sense that 500/500 scorers may have, and the math ability apparently props up the verbal score. Moreover, the 800/500 types seem to be irrepairably one-dimensional.

I'd like to know which is the real Jeremy Lin, the 800/700 Harvard guy, or the 800/500 sports admittance.

Playing decent so far. The jump pass was more of a shot attempt that got smothered, so he had to try and pass it off.

    I fixed it for you.

There are a number of logical flaws in your argument, but i'll look at this one. The issue is not that he defers (passes) but that he can't defer when he drives to the lane and realizes he is lost and defers out of bounds.

Jump pass is bad, but so is the lazy ass or dumb ass pass. Leaving you feet or staying on your feet, a bad pass is a bad pass.

There are too many hypocrites on this thread.

The only real debate here is... why? He was pretty dang solid up until all-star break, and it just all went downhill as fast as it went uphill
