Not just slow, but also lost, passive, and at times, like he doesn't want to be out there. Maybe he feels he has to push himself to play out of his slump despite being injured.
I don't think his back is the reason for some of his piss poor decision making. That said I'm confident Lin will go through a stretch where he looks spectacular again.
we're seeing some great rockets basketball in years and I don't understand why people scapegoat some players. this is a team game and lin ain't even a starter. smh
ok, we can stop "Jeremy Lin is a joke" thread for now... everybody has a break... wait until the next Jeremy slump....ok? haha
Are you freaking serious? Do you not follow the Rockets? We completely blew up our team! We did the following: - Traded Lowry to Toronto - Amnestied Scola who went to the Suns - Let Dragic go to the Suns - Let Lee go to the Celtics - Let Hayes go to the Kings - Traded Camby and Dalembert - Accumulated a bunch of first round picks that we flipped into TJones, White, and Lamb when we couldn't flip them for a star - Brought over D-Mo - Signed Asik from the Bulls - Signed Lin to run our team Our best players at that point was either Martin or Lin. We were in FULL TANK MODE at that point in time after blowing up our team. So... are you seriously going to come back, look me in the eye, and tell me still that we weren't tanking? The ONLY REASON that we ended up not tanking was because we ended up getting Harden.
I'm still waiting for someone to tell me Lin's verbal boards. At the moment I am expecting a very bimodal split like 800 math 500 verbal, because he has that technical flair for the long pass, but seems to lack the general intelligence to make sound passes in ambiguous situations. If that is the case, this would quiet any talk he would ever evolve into a smart PG like Nash or Tony Parker.
I would have to disagree on FULL tank mode because if the team was completely tanking then they wouldn't have signed Lin or Asik to those deals.
If he's hurt but able to play, I can understand a setback in his game. But he's been looking very bad of late. If he and Asik are playing at their normal and expected levels, we are a very deep team. A motivated Asik will be crucial for us.
I honestly have to disagree with this. We signed an unproven center that we felt could become really good to a contract that would not affect our ability to sign a star and on a low enough cap hit as well as a relatively unproven PG who's only accomplishment was Linsanity to the same contract. We were in full tank mode while keeping our future options open, meaning Morey was smart enough not to simply count on tanking for a draft pick.
Unless his back injury some how messes with his brain and cloud his decision making, I don't buy the he's just injured excuse.
If it were up to me, I would lock both the "Jeremy Lin is a joke!!!!" Thread AND the "Fire McFail!!!!" Threads and start fresh. Both these threads have long overstayed their welcomes, IMO.
I'm not here to defend Lins poor plays of late but I do someone understand what he's going through right now. I also have a nagging lower back issues and it really throws your game off not just in movement wise but mentally/decision makings as well. Unlike other injuries I've sustained over the years playing bball...I do have to say the back injury is one of the worse of the bunch. It hinders all aspects of playing ball the way you like to... In my case, I overwhelmingly started to defer much more. So, cut the guy some slack and lets support all the players. Peace be with you bball fans.
