Fify. And nicknaming him "JLin7" doesn't make him appear any awesomer. -JCar twin turbo 5.0 rev.2 edit: Wait, it does, nevermind!
For the larger part of the season, Lin has played up to his contract. It is really only for this stretch that he has been playing like a D-leaguer. Before we give up on a promising young player like Lin and start a complete unknown rookie, we should give him the benefit of the doubt and the opportunity to play out of his slump.
Yes, he was clearly injured. He had a big wrap around his back and was sitting on a big cushion wincing in pain and walking stiff. Not an excuse for his play of late but definitely a factor. He isn't playing with confidence and for him, he needs that. But he still hit a big three when we needed it. I think he should just take some time off and heal up. With Bev finally able to hit outside shots, we have the luxury of resting Lin and getting Canaan some PT. But I agree with earlier poster- we need a healthy and confident Lin in the playoffs or we aren't going anywhere.
Wow- do you ever post when you aren't trying to put down Lin? What did he do to you dude? Did he bang your mom? LOL
I think this is the exact kind of thinking that doesn't help the situation. If Lin is really dealing with confidence issues, the worst thing you can do is tell him suck it up and stop being such a baby. Tough love can be a good tool, but it has to be combined with an environment that can help support them as well. You wouldn't tell an alcoholic to just stop being a B. and just sober up, right? You have them go to AA and work with a support system.
Jeremy, you a disappointment for the Asian people. Step it up bro, make us proud. Stop playing scare or like you have nothing to lose. You only play great if you're aggressive and playing mad. But you suck when you are passive.
You do realize this is the NBA and not Junior Varsity high school team right? If you need to be coddled into coming into the game with the right mindset or not making boneheaded plays game after game, chances are you are not going to last long in this league.
If Lin is hurt, he needs to rest and go rehab in Palo Alto. With Lin's injury early in the OKC series, this year he should be playing more meaningful minutes. The only thing worse than a broken body is a broken spirit.
There's a difference between coddling and having the support of your teammates and coaches and being put in a situation that uses your talents properly. All I'm saying is that it wouldn't hurt to have Lin play through his mistakes during a few "sure-thing" games instead of running Beverley 4 quarters. I think it would be a small investment that could pay off big.
