In seasons past the board discussed the respective "posse" followings of players like Steve Francis. Is it now time for Yao Ming to consider his own "tong" by pressing for the addition of "Great Wall" free agents Menke Bateer and Wang Zhi Zhi?

:D Does anyone remember China VS US at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games, .
China start with Yao at C,Bateer at PF and Wang at SF...the game is totally one side until the "Great Wall" head to the bench

though menke, didn't play this year, Pop likes hims and says he wants to use him next year with Robinsons and Willis likely gone. Did anyone else notice Menke abusing Brand in the WCs?

    Sure! I'd love it.

But they would be third stringers like Terence Morris...we should get WangZhiZhi and Chris Wilcox too.

I remember well...China's problem is with their guards....they are horrible...they dribble too much and they make bad and/or predictable passes...

    hmmm....

Aside from being the tallest front court in the NBA, they could call out in Chinese to each other about where they are going and who wants the ball. They would have a tremendous advantage with pick n' rolls, etc., especially with Steve and Cat darting everywhere.

Rudy would love to have Wang on the team. Another seven footer for him to have shooting nothing but threes...

Uh, sorry guys. We need good players, not Bateer and Zhi Zhi.

Doesn't this topic come up once a month on the board?

bateer for the minimum but other than that, ill pass.

my reasoning: bateer > collier (who is gone)

bateer is not total crap like zhizhi. hes much tougher. the fact that hes chinese is just coincidence

his numbers against the US tgeam last fall were pretty good, so he CAN put up decent numbers against NBA competition. could be a good role player which is wat we need

Yes, but not as often as say the variations of the Odom, Brand, SAR, Rudy replacement coach, etc. etc. topics that are rehashed ad nauseum every two or three days.;)
