Marcus has been trying to use his footspeed (not his ballhandling) to get shots. On the baseline. He likes to try and sneak around traffic utilizing the backboard to fend off his opponent for a reverse... or keep his position on the wing for the one-handed baby hook. It isn't happening because his footspeed is being matched. On the box. Once again he has been trying to use his foot speed to give him the mobility he needs to gain clean looks at favorable angles...but it's not happening because, time and time again, his footspeed is being matched. To solve these problems he is being asked to work on his ballhandling. Give him some time to work it out. He'll figure it out... and when he does that will give him what he wants. A defensive rotation. And he's proven that he has the body control to avoid charges on the defnesive rotation...and the agility to counter motion, then hit a floater and loft soft finishes. ------------------ humble, but hungry. I like KT's foot work. His moves look very natural to him. He just needs to work on his release a little and to get some more NBA experience. I think in 3 to 5 years he will be a top notch PF. ------------------
I think over half of us here believed the same. I don't really like Fizer's game, and he's a classic tweener. Of course, they say the same abou Jamison, ya never know. ------------------ "I am" is reportedly the shortest sentence in the English language. Could it be that "I do" is the longest sentence ?
KT doesn't need to take any shots in this offense. His only points should come from tip-ins and dunks - not layups, hooks, turnarounds or 3pters. Francis needs to take more shots than 13 a game and it needs to come from someone. With Kenny hitting sub 40%, he's my pick. The only difference between Kobe Byrant and Steve's numbers are the fact that Steve rebounds, assists, steals and shoots better than Kobe, while Kobe takes 23 shots a game. ------------------ "I really don't try to score, I really just try and pick apart teams by passing to create opportunities." -- Cuttino Mobley
I'll give you that. Although I may seem like I'm doing the "i told you so" on the bbs about Fizer, I'm really trying to use Fizer as an example of how KT does have potential as well. You quote above can indeed apply to KT. KT has the ball-handling and footspeed that Fizer doesn't. Of course, KT is slightly older, too. Improving ball-handling to make you an NBA player is going to be harder than it is for KT to develope a turnaround J. Once KT gets people to guard him honestly and closely by making them respect a turnaround from 10', his established footwork, spin moves, and ball-handling will destroy the opponent...a pick your poison.
haven- I agree. It's hard to hold back. I didn't even want Fizer when we were all doing our Summer Dreamcasting threads. This is my second time to make the following comment. And I will repeat it until KT learns it, gets traded, or retires. KENNY THOMAS WILL TAKE A QUANTUM LEAP IN OFFENSIVE PRODUCTIVITY WHEN HE REALIZES A QUICK PULLUP J FROM ABOUT 8 or 10 FEET KEEPS THE BIGGER PF's FROM WAITING UNTIL HE IS DONE DANCING IN FOR A 3 FOOT SHOT WHICH THEY CAN BLOCK OR MAKE MORE DIFFICULT. Sorry, this just really bugs me. ------------ GATER [This message has been edited by GATER (edited December 14, 2000).]
Lay off Mo yall He brings much more to the rockets than just stats ------------------ In 1993-94 Mugsy Bogues averaged more boards for the season than Mo is this season!! [This message has been edited by SmeggySmeg (edited December 14, 2000).]

Mr Mango, There is no fight, Mo Taylor is a rocket and hence is a great player, currently he is experiencing some statistically disfunction, but this is only a temporary problem and through it all he continues to contribute to both the rockets and to Houston itself through ways that are not recorded on restrictive statistical box scores. Box Scores tell you nothing about what kind of player or person Mo Taylor is. He is a Stud Power Forward and one day when the street parades are happening and the Chornicle prints CLUTCH CITY in big writing on it's frontpage again, you will think to yourself " geez I wish i had listening to Smeg and changed my immature short sight views on Mo". So mango grow up, there's more to basketball than box scores, i would think someone like yourself would already know this! PhiSlammaJamma, I know 4 college Scouts that say otherwise. Have you really seen "SCOUTS" say that, or only media outlets. Those media guys don't like to be wrong, whereas scouts must be right at a high clip to keep their jobs. Can you show me a Scout quote?
