In his latest Rumblings and Grumblings Jason Starks mentions Chuck Finley as a possible Astro target.
I don't know how much Finley has left in the tank. I still think there is a certain D-Back in tucson that woul dbe a good fit with this team. He is currently 5-1 and 3rd in the PCL in ERA. He has major league experience with decent results against the Cards and Giants but the big club can't decide what they want to do with him. I think they are keeping him at AAA to increase his trade value and not bringing him up and risking him having a bad outing and reduceing the value.

He pitched okay down the stretch last year. And the Astros could use another lefty starter now that Jeriome Robertson's been demoted to the pen. Not to mention, he is married to Tawny Kitaen.

Actually I think they split up when he was still in Cleveland. it was messy but I cannot remember the specifics(but I do remembe rthat it was newsworthy).

Robertson has not been demoted to the pen. He is back in the rotation starting tonight.

Finley would probably be a good fit in our park also..he still has a good fastball... gets some srikeouts and some ground balls.. Doesnt give up a lot of HRs..Im surprised hes not in the majors.

I read that Finley and the Cardinals were talking, but that was about a week ago, so maybe talks broke down. Finley would be a nice addition but I think he is asking for more than Drayton is willing to spend.

According to the OrangeWhoopass people Finley wanted upwards of 2Million plus and teh Cards didn't want to give him that much.

this could be our rotation if this does come true:

    1.oswalt
    2.miller
    3.moehler(when he comes healthy)
    4.redding
    5. finley

    much more experienced than this:

    1.oswalt
    2.miller
    3.redding
    4.linebrink
    5.robertson
