Joakim Noah about to show the world he is on Brad Miller's level. No way Noah doesn't get this triple double. 11 points, 8 rebounds, 10 assists, 1 steal, and 2 blocks at halftime! Time to focus on a bigger fish...that ever elusive quadruple double lol
Yes. Between the Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday national TV slots, they're usually on two, if not three times a week and it's mind baffling. They're not a good team. No one wants to watch bad basketball. NBA needs flex scheduling. I know the Lakers have had games taken off TV but no reason teams like them and NY should be on national TV as often as they are.* You aren't putting the Sixers, Bucks, Magic, Jazz, Pistons, Kings on national TV. Well, the Knicks shouldn't be on either. I get it, it's New York, they're this glamour franchise. Heck, the Celtics have been pulled off the national stage. *I'm probably overstating it on the Lakers. Not nearly as often on national TV this year as I probably make it out to be.
There is usually one game on at 12 central on Sundays so that's the game that ABC will air. NBA can start scheduling more games at 12 so that ABC can flex these games after all-star break to coincide with the playoff race because the games they have chosen thus far have been terrible. These ABC games should absolutely be flexed as they are supposed to be the NBA showcase games...not sure what they are showcasing with the Knicks though...
That's just it, isn't it? As long as the NY market brings in viewership and ratings (read: mo' money), then there would be no reason to replace the NYK game with another team. And the statement for the Lakers is different from the Knicks, because the Lakers don't have anyone that people want to see play. The Knicks at least have Melo. So I think that, if Melo was injured for a duration akin to Kobe's duration, NYK would be taken off nat'l TV as well.
Has anyone checked the ratings to make sure people actually are tuning in? With the way the Knicks are losing in these ABC Sunday games, you'd think even diehard fans are changing the channel by halftime.
