Can we actually trade Lin with this salary and low production. I guess a team looking to clear cap space is the way to go but who would pay him 15 mil for this.
The passes he makes are too predictable, and he always dribbles in the lane and picks up his dribble.
This is not a joke anymore. It has become depressing. Pistons were horrible defensively. Lin should have taken advantage of this team. He should have played good so that he could get some confidence back. Terrence Jones got the message. Lin did not. Why does he keep throwing those stupid passes??? Those are bad passes even by middle/high school basketball standards and he keeps doing it game after game after game. This is incredibly frustrating to watch, especially with the playoffs around the corner.
I usually think Lin is better than people give him credit for... but man... recently there isn't really any defending his play. He's in a slump. Not just a shooting slump, but maybe a mental slump. He's not being aggressive like he was earlier in the season. Wonder what the problem is? Is he injured? Did the coaches change his role and he's struggling to adjust? Did he lose confidence? I don't know, but I hope he gets it going again.
God I hope he turns it around soon. We need adequate bench production if we are to advance in the playoffs.
I want Lin to do well, but at this point, he is a weak link in the Rockets. His biggest issue is that he is weak mentally. He is the anti "heart of a champion".
His problem is mental, not in skills. Last season he started slow, played pretty good after ASW, but bad in playoffs. This season he started hot, played trashy after ASW. So...turns it around in playoffs?
What I don't understand is that he played really well the first half of the season, and now he's just lost out there. I don't know. If this continues, we may have to give Canaan a chance.
This puts us in a REALLY big dilemma. Putting Canaan in now would basically shoot any of the remaining confidence Lin has ....out the window. We need to, but Canaan is also half a season of experience away from being serviceable.
It's getting pretty bad. So bad that even some LOF's need to be talked off the cliff. Lin doesn't strike me as a guy who ups his game in the playoffs either, so he needs some confidence heading into the postseason.
Fortunately he has 20+ games to get it together...and I seriously hope he does because he will be murdered by the media (being the popular player he is) if he doesn't.
Sometimes a little bench time motivates a player. As far as Canaan goes, we really don't know if he's serviceable or not. Won't know until he plays.
I think Jeremy Lin reads this site and his confidence level has dropped because of it. I think someone should start a "Lin, just getting started" thread. "We're only buggin'" -Whistle
if they keep playing him for nothing mins in the first half...he'll never get into a rhythm... Jeremy was never an "instant offense" kinda player (like AB), he needs P&Rs + fastbreaks to be successful and they never (or very rarely) run plays for him... I think he breaks out of it when they start giving him his 30mins a game again.
