Don't know how reliable this is. But here is a Phoenix Suns blog post about Dragic. It says this about his reasons for re signing with them.

"When he returned to US Airways Arena to discuss signing a contract with the Suns, Dragic was met by a line of employees and fans holding signs that read, “Welcome back, Goran!” and, “Come back home!”

Dragic said the moment only reaffirmed his hope of moving back to a familiar city.

“Phoenix is my second home and it brought old memories back of when we made (Western) Conference Finals,” he said. “I was really emotional and surprised that there were a lot of people outside the arena cheering for me.

“I have a lot of friends here and I started my NBA career here. This organization, this city and the people here gave me a lot and I so I just try to repay them for it.”"

Did they beat the Spurs that year? If so, doesn't surprise me that they would worship the guy- they HATE the Spurs in Phoenix, maybe even worse than they hate us.

They did- wow- that was one of the biggest series wins in their franchise history. Phoenix Suns fans are a salty group, though. If you want to really piss them off, two sets of numbers will suffice:

Well said. I can't believe there are folks here spouting about how they'd rather have him instead of Harden (whut whut in the whut??). It's like the twilight zone up in here

That's not saying much. He wanted to be in Phoenix more.

I don't think that's right. Doesn't he make the same money as Lin? I don't think this has anything to do with Dwight.

I was under the impression that he would have resigned with Houston if we had offered him a player option for that 4th year; do I have that wrong?

I do think that if we land a Rondo, Love, or Aldridge next off season with the cap-space we save from not signing Dragic for that 4th year, then I think things worked out for the best.

Guys, if I remember well, he wanted twice as much money as Lowry was playing for. And remember, he was 'Lowry's back up' only a few months ago. Yeah I know Lowry is so underpaid but still he wanted a LOT of money. Also some still can argue that Lowry is a better player.

I wish him nothing but the best, but he is not playing for the Rockets. So personally I don't really care. Unless he is on my fantasy basketball team.

And Francisco Garcia of all freaking people.

But I think Morey is going to be less worried about maintaining flexibility since we're going to be actually paying guys now and won't be able to avoid the cap.

Dragic took 21 shoots and attempted 11 free throws to get his 40 points. You think that would ever happen with Harden/Dwight on his team. Hahaha
