The linked article is incorrect. It says that to be playoff eligible you need to sign before March 1. This is incorrect. You need to be free from a team by March 1 to be playoff eligible. You can sign with a team any time before the playoffs to be eligible as long as you were free from a team before March 1.

I agree, also Otis Thorpe, Moses Malone, and Elvin Hayes. Let's resign them all.

Signing a 75 yr old Marcus Camby is pointless given Asik's healthy. Metta World Peace? Heeeeeeellllllll Noooooooooooooooo!!!! That guy is a clown. Rockets have struck out on all the major buyouts. Let's not get desperate

"Major buyouts"? This is other teams getting rid of dead weight. These guys are all shells of their former selves. Twilight of the career guys. I would be pretty shocked if any of them made a significant contribution to their new teams.

Give me a young cat like Hamilton any day over a washed up has-been recovering from whatever-surgery.I get that we want a veteran presence come playoff time, but we already have that. We need guys who can contribute, and make the OTHER guy run his a$$ off.

I'm not gonna shed a tear over "missing out" on this "vet bonanza". This is just CF whipping themselves because they're bored and want to see some movement.

Adding the corpse of Danny Granger or Jason Terry's emaciated left finger is not going to put the team over the hump. Chemistry will.

Plenty of "past their prime" veterans become difference makers for title contending teams in the playoffs. PJ Brown for the Celtics title winner, Battier, Mike Miller, Ray Allem and Chris Andersen for the Miami Hear.
