He's an above average wrestler. I'll give you that he isn't spectacular on the mic which is his biggest drawback. I also think his height works to his advantage as being the ultimate underdog. Plus, there have been plenty of short wrestlers than main-evented like Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio and Chris Benoit among others.
I don't see how they couldn't avoid it. Two heels for the title and all the Yes chants during Batista's promo have me thinking Bryan somehow walks out of WM as champ. Facing the winner or some kind of screw job happens. Hogan says it won't fly and asks the fans who they Want too see challenge right now.
I love how fans now want Bryan to keep the john cena treatment and never lose a match, after all of these years of watching cena you now want him Bryan your prodigal son to get the same treatment. I'm getting sick of Bryan and his hype, he shouldn't be in the title picture and I don't get why all the hate for bastita nothing is his fault at all.
Regardless of any feelings on DB, the hate for Batista is because he's absolute garbage. Dude can't work 2 minutes without being totally gassed.
Do fans actually get upset when DB loses at any time? For example, did they get angry when he lost to Bray Wyatt at Royal Rumble?
Fans weren't angry when he lost to Wyatt, they weren't angry when Orton cashed in, they weren't angry when he lost kept losing to Orton. Fans are mad that he's been entirely removed from the rumble, and the main event picture, in favor of a garbage wrestler like Batista. Seriously regardless of people's feelings on Bryan, Batista sucks. In his prime he sucked, can't work a match. He has a simple finisher and he can't even do that right usually. He's a bodybuilder and Triple H's friend, so he gets thrown right into the wrestlemania main event right away, despite despite being in comically bad shape cardio wise. I'm hard on Orton and Cena, but they have been going through the grind, and have displayed on numerous occasions the ability to work great matches, something that can't be said for Batista. I don't demand Bryan in the main event, this is more about how much I detest Batista.
Bryan is by far the best wrestler in the company, maybe even the world. Consistently goes harder in a match than anyone else on the card. And is the most popular superstar since Austin or Rock from the Attitude era (Cena never got minutes of chanting from fans even in 2004. Bryan gets it about every week and once or twice a show. Anyone who says he doesn't belong in the main event. And finds no fault in Batista coming back after 5 years and having the main event handed to him when guys like Bryan, Punk, Cena, etc. are wrestling 5 nights a week 250 times a year just doesn't get it. No other company in the world rewards hard work less than the WWE. I hope Raw in Chicago spells a much needed return. Punk should have been main eventing WM for 3 years now.
He may be the most over with the live crowds but I don't think he is comparable to the rock or stone cold.
The thing is you don't get it, what does the WWE have to gain from Daniel Bryan main eventing WM? He is not going to bring in any new fans... none! The WWE is a business and they are smart, they know that Daniel Bryans fan base is the hardcore wrestling fan. And you know the thing about hardcore wrestling fans is they are going to watch no matter what, they are the ones who already own the network and have paid for Wrestlemania. Daniels story is still pretty early on... l could see his story lasting a full more year and him getting the main event next WM, how do you expect his rise to the top to be great if its just done half assed to appease the fans? If they can gain more momentum with him and he can crossover more into the mainstream they could have a gold mine on their hands. Its like watching a movie and than half way thru fast forwarding to the hero saving the day... it would make it meaningless. Daniel is in the WWE's plans and he will get his shot, just be patient and enjoy the ride. Oh and temper your expectations, he is never getting a year long title run, he doesn't need the belt to be over so its really worthless. Plus it would get a little ridiculous having the little guy be champ for a long time.
What does the WWE have to gain from anyone main eventing WM then? Wgat new fans has Batista brought in besides his steroid dealer and Tammy at the spray tan place. They should just not have a main event at all. The 15,000 or so chanting YES frantically every week on Raw and every week on SD in a new city are not just hardcore wrestling fans. If a guy is the best at what he does and I believe Bryan could beat the **** out of anyone he faces. I have no problem keeping the belt on him until someone steps up. Punk, Lesnar, Rhodes, Del Rio are closest in my mind. I am in favor of lengthy title runs. I don't like 1 day title defenses and I don't like Rock or Batista coming in and winning it easily it makes both the belt look cheap and the entire roster look unworthy (and it's the most athletic roster I can ever remember)
Lol @ Bryan being the best wrestler in the world. Have you seen his matches lately, atleast 50% kicks, his finisher is also a flying knee to the chest. That isn't good wrestling. Cesaro is by far the best wrestler today.
- CM Punk returning? http://www.wrestlinginc.com/wi/news...ews-on-cm-punk-possibly-returning-to-wwe-and/ - As for Bryan: He may or may not be the "best wrestler"--which is somewhat subjective anyway since, you know, we are not talking about a real competition. But he definitely gets the biggest reaction from the crowd and that's a pretty valuable ability for a wrestler to have. That said, the trick for the promotion is translating this into TV ratings, PPV, tickets and merchandise sales. IIRC, Bryan is not even at John Cena level for these things yet, let alone Stone Cold or Rock. - Batista's current problem is really lazy/stupid booking. He never was more than just a big muscle guy but they managed to make the same big muscle guy a star before with whatever limitations he has always had. On his return, they wanted to make Batista a top baby face didn't have him do anything to make the crowd cheer for him as such.
If they could somehow get Punk back on board it could save the match IMO If Bryan or Punk are thrown in the Main event as faces, with Orton transitioned back into a tweener the match could be salvageable. I'd be OK with Orton, Punk or Bryan leaving mania as the champ, plus all 3 of them are good enough workers so they might be able to cover for Batistas general in ring sorriness. I just really don't want Batista with the strap.
Man your really not all their are you, basista is a certainty to win the strap, he has to promote his upcoming move and what better way than to win it all. And stop dreaming about Bryan being in the title picture it's not happening
A movie that doesn't come out until August. Maybe you're one of those types that will support the product no matter what, but I for one just can't tolerate 6 months of Batista at the top of the card. I stopped watching for years, just came back in 2011 and if this goes like I expect it to, the Raw after mania will probably be the last show I watch for awhile. I also said I'd be fine with Punk or Orton winning the belt (without bryan even in the match) just in case your reading comprehension isn't that good.
I don't think its a given Batista will win, Orton is "the guy" for the WWE now. Batista will win it eventually but i don't see him holding the belt from now until his movie comes out, I mean at least I hope not... that would be hard to watch.
Y'all know what would of solved all of this and made this not even an issue is if they would of just had Wade Barrett come out at #30 at the rumble and say "I know you want Daniel Bryan but I've got some bad news for you." this would get him tons of heat then have Batista (who they want to push as a face) beat him down and eliminate him last. then the following week on RAW you have Batista align himself with Bryan and say he is tired of Triple H's politics and that would set up a good feud between both Bryan and Triple H and Batista and Orton... while pretty much forcing people to love Batista because he is aligned with Bryan. oh and you actually use Wade Barrett for something! haha
