Joe Joe - is that because the stat doesn't count drives that end in free throws? I remember something like that but wasn't sure.

Lin's pnr stat line suggests he runs a very good pnr (109 compared to league average 103) with Dwight (and he runs it most often with Dwight) but there are others with whom he has more success. I am wondering who? Asik? TJones?

These stats are the true source of the Lin-wars on clutchfans.

People who think the offense would work better with dominant pg play, jump shots, and pick and rolls.

And those who think it works better as is. Which means we need different point guards.

Direction of the team has shifted and shifted hard. This was no longer Lin's team the minute the Rockets got Harden. Even without Harden, Lin wasn't going to be the franchise player, he wasn't payed like one at $8.3 million. At best, he was only one of the featured players in the interim until a real franchise player arrived.

What I think gets a lot of LOFs going is that they know Lin's strengths but the team doesn't play often to them. So Lin adjusts his game to fit with the team but it's still a work in progress. Instead of saying Lin's game doesn't fit with the team and should go elsewhere, CFers say that Lin's a joke. Is there a better way to antagonize a fanbase?

There are also fake LOFs who troll CFers and CFers who troll and antagonize LOFs. It just snowballs from there.

The kid seems to do well in the PnR. Feature it more and the team should get more wins, or at least, easier wins. I understand the need to keep your stars happy. If Howard needs to be fed in the post to stay happy at the expense of Lin/Howard PnR, so be it. An engaged Howard will give Rockets more benefits offensively and defensively than a unengaged Howard running a play that gets a backup PG slightly higher efficiency.

The line up of Asik-Lin-Hamilton-DMo-someone was playing to Lin's strengths. Even when Lin was missing shots, he was contributing offensively with assists and potential assists. We were just missing layups and open shots.

I would be happy if we got more interesting discussion about Lin. Seems like it isn't possible. Any stat that makes Lin look good seems to be interpreted as hidden agenda of LOFs. Instead of arguing for Lin to play a certain type of role to better fit the system, he gets called a scrub. In this new Rockets team, Lin can either improve in his new role or the team can change to better take advantage of Lin's strengths. Better discussion can be had in the meanwhile, but it just doesn't happen.

I'm surprised we are so high, it feels like we don't run pick n roll enough.

We actually do quite a bit of pnr. At least enough to call it a major part of our game. What you see though are very light screens then roll, either to the basket or out to the 3 point line. A slight touch here then a slight touch there. Enough to mess up the defense.

What I want to see is some of that clippers semi moving semi grab your **** screens.

I think free throws weren't counted and just Harden not driving as much as it seems.

The numbers say the Rockets are slightly better running PnRs with Lin. Being better by a small amount in one play does not change what the overall numbers say.

I guess this helps with the Morey "wtf didn't sign Dragic" argument. Might not have been a terrible decision after all.

He runs more than twice the amount of PnRs as Lin and is #2 in the league in totals PnRs run. While Dragic is the better player at this moment, I wonder how much of an upgrade he would be over Lin in our system (and whether that's worth the player option or not).

Actually I think it is DMo. TJone's picks really suck.
