I think you guys got it all wrong about Cousins. He's on my team in NBA2K and he hasn't gotten a single tech, he's a nice guy under all that crazy.
That was a weak ass shot. 1 game is more than enough, and in my opinion should've just been a fine. NBA is soft nowadays.
This is not boxing or hockey. There is no room for punching of any kind in this sport. Penalty should be more stiff for scumbag moves like this.
Not just the shot, cursing out the official like a crazy man too. And probably "having a rep" as well, which eliminates any benefit of the doubt.
Where I am from, behaviors like that, can be classified as "bringing the game into disrepute". The League is always trying to protect its image to prevent the fans from leaving the sport to go to another.

It wasn't that serious. It's pro sports, these small things were worse in the 90's. Don't think Deke didn't give out a few intentional elbows per series in the playoffs. Doesn't change the fact Cousins is a top 3 center in the league along with Hibbert and Howard. I will take that over a nice guy who says all the right things but can't stand the heat and is praised for being just like the fans... aka Lin, Terence Morris etc

I will add, Cousins has improved significantly in his first 4 seasons. He is 23 with a lot of fire and about 4 years away from his prime. Can he win a title with another superstar?
