I prefer MC over Fry's, but they're much too far from me to drive to.

I bought my i7 4770k processor from Micro Center when they had it for $199 a few months ago. And for that, they'll always have a special place in my heart. I hope this rumor isn't true.

I thought they were all gone several years ago when they announced they were killing all their b&m shops. I dont come on the west side if I can help it, so didnt realize that one location was still open.

I do miss the various tech stores, I could spend hours checking out all the electronics...Im down to Frys and thats it.

Microcenter is awesome. I feel like it's a hidden secret since most people go to Frys. I got a good deal for my motherboard and i5 processor there. IT MUST NOT DIE!

You might be thinking of CompUSA, which had several locations in Houston. Microcenter has always had the 1 store in Houston AFAIK.

MICRO CENTER WILL MOVE SOUTH, GIVE UP WEST LOOP SITE FOR AMEGY BANK HQ

Micro Center, 1717 West Loop South, Houston Confirming a pair of reports published on Swamplot last month, Amegy Bank announced today that it is buying the 4-acre lot currently occupied by computer retailer Micro Center at 1717 West Loop South, just north of San Felipe, to build a new corporate headquarters. The designer of the coming 350,000-sq.-ft. Amegy complex is Pickard Chilton, the New Haven architect behind downtown’s BG Group Place, among other Houston structures. Amegy will keep its downtown offices, but move its corporate offices and Galleria banking center across the freeway to the new building. But Micro Center won’t be exiting Houston. It’ll move later this year to an unspecified new location “near the 610 Loop and Highway 59 Southwest Freeway interchange.”

Would that make nearby property value go up (in terms of demand) or stay the same?

Microcenter has great deals. Picked up an i5-3570K from microcenter for $150 half a year ago. Amazon, Newegg, and tiger direct have never had those low prices. Always at least $200.

One on the left is a residential high-rise, but the one at the corner of post-oak is a whole foods. Nice view, do you work for BHP?

He didn't take that picture nor was that picture taken from BHP's property. It was from a residential building.
