That's my feeling on it. Some nub holding an Impeach Obama sign sounds like highly ineffective marketing. You spend hours of your life doing this, and your impact on the national discourse is a mere drop in the ocean, and your influence on whether or not he's actually impeached is completely negligible -- even if you multiply the hours of one man's life wasted by a thousand other sign-holders across the country. Even people who agree Obama should be impeached won't waste their time with a guy who chooses to stand in an airport for hours with a sign. I see the Montrose overpasses over 59 in the same way (impeach Obama, save Palestine, save Israel, stop Assad, 9/11 was an inside job) but holding a sign in an airport is probably even less effective. He could have said the same thing on Twitter, had more impact, and spent only 5 seconds of his time doing it.
I LOVE morons that arent afraid to show us how damn stupid they are. I can ALWAYS use more comedy in my life.
Some of the older posters may remember the old days when the Moonies, Hare Krishnas, LaRoucheites, and Ron Paul pamphleteers were a common nuisance at Hobby Airport. They were like flocks of pigeons following travelers. Similar crazy signs and sloganeering from the LaRouche and Paul nutjobs were not unlike what these modern day nutjobs are offering. Loved the free incense from the Hare Krishnas though.
I used to run into those guys at the post office on Timmons every so often. Once when I confronted the guy for being ignorant of not only Nazi history but of American history as well, he called me a [three letter derogatory term for gay men]. I responded by calling him an ignorant prick to the delight of several onlookers. That was a fun trip to the post office that day.
What's interesting is that the reason why many of those people aren't in airports anymore is that the courts ruled that airports (even ones that are run by governments) aren't considered "public spaces" and as a result, the first amendment does not apply absolutely. So theoretically Hobby could probably ban these jokers and survive a constitutional challenge.
This was always on my way to high school in the 60's These guys were always in the airports in the 70's new day, new idiots
I saw some Impeach Obama guys with similar signs at the MN Occupy site. They were LaRouchites who got a lot of flack from other Occupiers. Of course this being a Minnesota Occupy it was rather mild flack.
oh noes not an "impeach Obama sign" How could they even suggest that for our dear leader. The nerve of some people.
