Man, if the All Star game is even HALF as entertaining.... Introductions: The members of the Sophmore team exchanged warm up jerseys before the game, and Shawn Marion came out in Steve's warm up shirt...For a split second, I thought, "Wow...Shawn Marion in a ROCKETS jersey...." ...Then I crashed back down to earth... Francis: Showed off his amazing dribbling skills and is proving that he's one of the most underrated shooters in the game...And almost tripped over his MICROPHONE wire?? Somebody please tell me that Steve wasn't wearing a wireless mike in his pants....that's just wrong... The actual game: What can ya say? No defense, a lob every five seconds, isolations left and right....Put a couple of fat guys on the bench chugging a few beers, and it's a mirror image of any pickup game in the country....Extremely entertaining... Play of the game: When that dude from the rookie team passed the ball DIRECTLY to Franchise...Man, I used to fall for that trick all the time when I first started playing pick up games...ahhh, sweet memories... ------------------ If you don't eat your meat, you can't have any pudding!!
Francis was way too unselfish in this game. I really wanted him to get the MVP, but he instead tried to get other players involved. The Sophmores were just toying with the Rookies, they'd take it easy until the Rooks got close, then turn it up and squash them. But I liked the dunks. And that play were Jackson passed it to Francis had me laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes. *Oh, and like half a dozen players had wireless mikes, not just Francis. ------------------ The Rockets will be the NBA champions. Ilove the rookie game. I never liked the allstar game to begin with. Saturday is the best part of allstar weekend. The rookie game has quickly turned into my favorite event because it's the most exciting hands down. Elamin's career may be hurt by the embarassment he recieved from Steve and Baron. Baron made him fall over and you could hear elamin sayin in the timeout he tripped. I laughed my ass off at that one. And then Francis pulled some playground trick and faked it around his head. That was SWEET. Francis had another great crossover against someone and Baron made Mateen Cleaves look like he was on skates when he crossed him in the 1st half. Darius Miles was very impressive as well. The funny thing was that the players were actually shooting the ball very well from outside. ------------------
