Found this on Reddit. They're in the third row The Offense Efficiency has been steady all season. And the Defensive efficiency is improving as the season goes along because of improved communication on PnR, when to force the man to Dwight, etc. I think the creator of this picture used Basketball Reference because by their metric, Rockets were average on defense most of the season (Largely due to defensive rebounding issues).
Why do you think many teams' defense including the rockets' collapsed in the early part of the season?
Easy to see the ol' "Rudy Gay Subtraction Effect" from December to January on the Raptors offense, same as Memphis saw last year. Its almost worht acquiring him so you can improve later.
The Timberwolves are an enigma. They have good offense and defense and they are averaging about +4 points per game more than they give up, which is comparable to the top teams... yet they aren't in the playoff picture.
I'm really not sure Indiana's offense is good enough yet this year. Has it really improved since last year? I'd still take Heat in a 7 game series.
I'd like to see how the metrics are calculated. GSW is the one that usually surprises people (but has been thrown around for quite a while now)
I believe they are 1-15 in close games. Bad luck, bad coaching, no iso superstar, no clutch players? Your guess is as good as mine.
The Timberwolves would have been in the playoffs if they could win some close games. Very deceiving looking at their chart against their current ranking. Love the offensive flat liners from Heat, Pacers, Thunder and Blazers. Looks like the Bulls are making a run to the Playoffs.
I don't know about the rest of the League, but our defense started out good because of the twin towers. When we ended that experiment, it took us awhile to learn to funnel everything to Howard.
