LOL. I don't think Isiah actually scored when Lin was playing. The lead continued to drop after Lin was taken out. Dude. stop pinning it on Lin. We had 5 reserves on court when the lead was fading, and u blame it all on Lin. LOL. Lin is the scapegoat because he's passive Christian nature and not vocal. I wish he would yell back at coach and the players yelling at him. Bring back some fighting spirit in him. He's playing ****ty, but mostly on offense. I actually think his defense was alright. If I'm not rooting for the team, actually what Lin should do is ask to be traded, and be "injured" for 2 months and then come back. Then this board wouldn't be b****ing about it anymore.
I mean after the all star break. Wouldn't someone with a bbal IQ see it as a slump and not the norm? I'm juust saying. I think JLin will be the deciding factor between winning and losing in the playoffs. Harden and co will have their hands full against elite teams. As the 6th man he'll need to help neutralize or extend to give the starters the extra cushion should they struggle.
It's a bad thing if you playing ****ty because it bothers you. And I'm not asking him to yell for no reason. I'm asking for him to yell BACK
I think some of you are being a little hard on Lin, granted he has been god awful over the last 4 games, it's only 4 games not some extended period of terrible play. In the 7 games before this stretch he averaged 14 and 6 on 49% shooting during a 7 game winning streak. He has been maddeningly inconsistent, but it's just flat out untrue to say he's been terrible all year.
I was not talking about his play after the all star break, just his body composure while playing. He had a week of good games while Harden was out. Before that it was 1 good game, 3-4 crap games. Then benched for a while. It has been that way all season, so no, it isn't a slump. He just isn't that good of a basketball player. And I do not think he will have any deciding factor in the playoffs. I think Asik will have a much bigger role in that over Lin. Bev will be playing 40 mins a game in the play offs barring an injury. Edit: To add to JeffGreen's dumb post. Please just stop. You already sound pretty stupid. Don't make it worse.
Don't know what you guys expect from Lin when he plays 9 min. In the first 3 Qs And 5 of the those min with harden, with harden shooting lights out And Lin only gave up 3 points in that time Lin struggling the past 4 games, but the team is 3-1
McLemore did score a couple times switched on Lin, but I only recall Isaiah scoring once on Lin all game. (This was the first time Isaiah had a hard time offensively against Lin... In the past, Lin has had a hard time guarding Isaiah.)
You just explained why he is only playing 9 min. He's been struggling and there hasn't been improvement in his game. On top of that, the team is winning.
No, he played well before the injury. Assuming Lin is recovered, the problem is his piss-poor mental game. Moreover, his loss of role is obviously leading to locker room problems in a death spiral. So basically the Rockets either fix him mentally or dump him for whatever spare parts over the summer. Throw in the $3 million cash, throw in a second rounder if need be.
Also, Lin is either someone you start and let him get into a groove, or have him play SG. Because unless Lin gets into a groove, you only get the erratic downsides of his ball-handling without the up. And that's bad. The Rockets have chosen the latter of SG (since of course the first is not even an option).
Jeff stop embarrassing yourself. Every time someone pins you, you try to come up with a different excuse. Mclemore lit up and cut the lead substantially.
I think it only looks that way because of limited minutes so it only looks worst than it really is. I'm sure if he was given the appropriate minutes things will look a lot better. If Harden was not in the picture who would you rather have...obviously Lin. Thats not my point anyway...I'm not here to tear away at Bev. IMO, I think Lin is more suited to play with Howard than Asik. Since Harden is more of an ISO player I don't Howard is needed. I think this will maximize Lin and Howard ability.
The reality is Lin is just not a good fit for this team, in salary, in role, etc. Unless he can play his role well, as a combo guard off the bench (in which case he can be pretty valuable), he's useless. He has to accept that role and bring his 'A' game. I do wonder if Canaan will soon take his minutes. Hamilton's gonna take minutes. Asik's gonna get minutes. Motejunas, too. They don't play the same position, of course, but what happens is the players get pushed down, 5 to 4, 4 to 3, etc. Then JLin'd be really effed and untradeable (if not already). So if he didn't like 30 minutes before, and 20-something now, he's on the verge of 4 minute Asik territory.
Not blaming Lin, just pointing out some challenges of his on the court. Lin being a passive Christian has absolutely zero to do with this. I'm a Christian, been saved for over 43 years. I like Jlin, but just like the rest of the players on this team he has some deficiencies and his fans need to own up to it! Bottom line, he is paid like a CEO for underperforming results for the last 2 years.
I don't think anyone can argue that Lin has been playing poorly the last couple of games, he needs a spark or maybe for McHale to give Canaan some of his minutes to see if that can jolt him back to the level he was playing at early in the season. Anyway you guys were so quick to sling poo at "Haren" and "Mcfail" earlier in the year so now that some guys criticize Lin in game threads after he makes a mistake the narrative is "why do you guys pick on Lin after every mistake, it should be about the team not about one player" It's cluttering the game threads and it needs to stop. The guys who over criticize Lin and the guys who overslob him are both cancers to this board.
