why not? move Harden to pg position. Harden/Granger/Parsons/Jones/Howard, fantastic line up.

Move Hamilton to the two. Cut Greg Smith. Bring in Granger.

    Bev/Lin/Canaan
    Harden/Hamilton/Garcia
    Parsons/Granger/Casspi
    T-Jones/D-Mo
    Dwight/Asik

Yep its not a concern at all. I think its actually the right thing to do to give that additional salary to the players already on the roster instead of bringing in another player to essentially take salary away from the players who have suffered through all those losses this year.

I call it a tanking team player bonus.

Either way they are spending the money... they can choose to give a little extra to their guys already, or spend it on another player they bring in just to spend it on someone else that doesn't fit their long term plans.

Why would you measure career stats when Granger's last couple years have been completely different from his previous years.

He's not the same player he was. Not even close.

Personally I just don't see it.

Granger has been a shell of his former self the past 2 seasons and has produced nothing productive for Indy. He is just an ok rebounder for a small forward and I absolutely see nothing in his game that screams out PF except maybe if the other team went small. Could anyone imagine granger trying to play against Zebo, Blake, Love, LMA or TD? He would get derstroyed phisically.

I'll trust in Morey to make the call on this one but I see little to no use from Granger.

I do not disagree with you. But $14M seems like a lot of money to me. Maybe I do not understand Philly's owners position or something.

He has been awful offensively, I am not sure why everyone wants him.

Because he's only played a bit over 30 games in 2 years due to an injury that while major hasn't really been known to have been chronic.

I'm not saying Granger CAN put up these types of stats or play this role this year, but what I am saying is that he has in the past, and thats at least worth considering. He's worth the very small risk gamble of what Morey would be paying Granger in this case for the CHANCE he has recovered or will recover.

The Magic were paying Rashard Lewis near max level dollars to perform the role he had, and the Rockets would be paying Granger near the vet minimum to the low mid level to perform this particular role..... If it doesn't work out... who the hell cares... you lost who.... Greg Smith??? If it does work out and he performs at 70 to 80% of what he has shown in the past, your looking a major piece to the puzzle, and something that has been lacking the entire time the Rockets have had Howard.

Defense, we do not need offensive player since we score lots of points, but we need stop someone.

It certainly seems like it would be worth the risk.

Will need to buyout someone in order to make room for Granger IF that is what Morey is thinking of doing.

    Garcia, Casspi, Smith, or Daniels?

Would be great for the team, and we can rotate other guys in different situations depending on the scenario. Also he has a mean streak during the playoffs so we could use that dynamic as well.

Granger would play the 3...not the 4. If Parsons were in the game with him, he would play the 4 and Granger would play the 3. Our 4's are T. Jones and D. Mo.

If Morey wants Granger I certainly wouldn't argue... I will just say that he is not the player that he used to be. He is no longer explosive and he cannot create his shot or finish inside.

He does one thing average offensively right now, and that is catch and shoot 3's (36%). Perhaps his efficiency will tick up a bit in Houston if he comes here.

Just thinking out aloud but the ideal lineup with a hot granger against say an okc in the playoffs would be
    Bev
    Granger
    Parsons
    Harden
    Dwight

You guys that want Granger...if Villanueva comes free you should want him over Granger. He's healthy, he's been practicing, he's almost 7 feet tall, and he's a great offensive fit for what we do here. He knows it too. He'd be picking and popping all day long. No, I'm not a huge fan of Villanueva over Granger. But the reality is Granger is coming off a major injury and has shown absolutely zero since he started playing. In fact, what he has shown is that he is not ready to really contribute in a positive manner. The better fit for this team at this time is Villanueva if he shakes loose. Villanueva is not the popular choice. In fact, he's probably unpopular. But he's the better player right now and the better fit for us.

Isn't he shooting in the 20's from downtown this year? Plus doesn't he take heaps of long twos?
    Anti moreyball?
