ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Clippers 2/26/2014

No overtime please! I fell asleep at the beginning of the 4th during last night's thriller. Can't wait for them to get off the West coast.

 

Be nice to see DMo own Big Baby in his debut with the clippers...

 

Win would be HUGE.

 

The team has been playing so well lately it stinks knowing a lose would tumble us down to 5th. I guess they just need to win then.

 

The west is ridiculous... hopefully Brooklyn beats Portland too

 

man I want to see us get to 40 wins so bad tonight!!

 

I don't fear the Clippers like some do. James Harden has been awful both times this year against them and they will not have Reddick. People also forget to note that both losses came when the Rockets were sporting the twin towers and both times the Rockets started off very sluggish. Beverley will be back, and the team always seems to start off well with Bev in the starting lineup, so I expect a good solid win to put the Clips 3 games back.

 

I want to see our starters get off to another great start. They have been doing this very well since they have been on this incredible streak since January. Our bench just has to be careful with the ball and be more aggressive on defense. D-Mo was awesome last night on traps, pick and roll defense & perimeter d, and setting picks to give our shooters enough space. Basically doing the little things you don't see on the stat sheets. My ideal second unit I like to see out there right now is Asik, D-Mo, Lin, Hamilton, and either Harden/Parsons. I think Hamilton is going to win that spot over Omri and Garcia for the rest of year.

 

Whats the over/under on CP3 flops for tonights game??

 

This game is our heat check. If we win, we have a legit chance at doing some serious damage in this year's playoffs, and teams will be scared to face us. If we lose badly, we're right back to a first or second round exit.

 

I hope we have Van Gundy again tonight. If things look bad he can homer us to a victory :grin:

To me the Clippers are just one of those bad matchups for the Rockets. I really do want them to win, but it's almost like watching the Golden State team back in, I believe 06-07, destroy the 1st seed Mavs. I really hope T-Jones doesn't let Griffin walk all over him at the beginning. We know Beverley is going to do what he does best and smother CP3

Most excited for the Paul vs Beverley matchup tonight.

 

I'd love to see a Van Gundy/Jon Barry pairing for a Rockets game just to find out if the two come to blows by the end of the broadcast.
