I wasn't able to watch the game, but I don't know why every one is complaining? Yea those couple of turnovers at the end seemed like they were bad, but other than that he had 11 points, 3 assists, and 3 rebounds. And he did it with only 21 minutes of playing time and on a night where H&H were deadly and rightfully deserved the ball and the shots. Yeah, he missed 4 of his 7 shots but I just don't see the obsession with one player who played limited minutes in a blowout win. Was he really that bad?
If you honestly believe that at this point, people are "nitpicking" Lin, then you either have no basketball knowledge or exactly like the twitter person you quoted.
With his current role... Yes. Easily. However people tend to forget that Lin was signed here before Howard... before even Harden. Morey made this contract with the intention that Lin would be a 35+ mpg pg with a high usage rating. If he had that role he would be easily averaging roughly 17 and 7 which would justify his contract. Obviously this team would not be the championship contender it is today, so be glad that Lin isn't our 1st or 2nd best player.
some of the passes he throws make me wonder what the hell is going through his head when throws the r****ded passes?.. im done with the full court hail mary passes..when will he stop that ****
Overpayment is the fault of the contract offerer, not the recipient. It simply means the team offer too much money for what they get. It is different compare to a player that is underachieving because it implies the potential is there. The latest stretch of games to me is Lin underachieving, rather than him being paid too much. Because the potential is still there. A player capable of 20PER definitely deserves his current contract, but he is only performing at a little over 14, which is below league average.
Totally agree. I mean this environment is pretty negative already with all the debates - so why cause more ****?
I believe not a single one in the world disagrees - 15 million next year for this kind of production and inconsistency. But Cato didn't get such excessive hate, nor did Mo Taylor. Nobody is even remotely close being bashed this hard by fans of a team. Schadenfreude is just unbelievable in game threads.
Idk, I just look at the game threads where every turnover he makes results in like at least 10-15 posters getting on him and look at how much discussion there is about Lin in the game threads (but that's also an LOF issue). And then I look at this thread where we have a 250 page thread that's labeling him as a joke and which is bashing his play. But hey, that's just me. I'm not saying Lin is the only one who gets criticized on this forum, because he clearly isn't (e.g. Casspi). I'm just saying that there's a group of LOFs like the person I quoted that say the most radical things, and because of this, there's a bunch of ppl on here that want to bash him so much more to piss those fans off. It's understandable (I guess), but to say ppl don't nitpick his mistakes more than the rest of the players on this team, I just don't agree with that.
Lin haters are pushing their case a little too hard lately. Suggests insecurity on their part. No point in highlighting everything Lin has done to help the team to its present record. The haters will continue to hate.
