This was a bad habit Lin has developed since the All-Star break last season. Lin at one time either stuck to his man or committed fully to the double team. But he has developed this tendency to stand in no man's land, where he never really double-teams, yet is still vulnerable his man shooting the open shot. (This is why his steals have gone way down.) Whether the problem is Lin or the coaching, I won't speculate. But this is a bad habit that he has developed in recent time.
Lin is considered undeserving and talentless, but he sure gets a lot of attention to everything he does on court as if he is an important figure. If he was such a non-factor, stop dedicating all of these threads to him. You should also know by now that every time you guys criticize Lin, his fans will be there to defend him. It's a vicious cycle. It's just funny reading some of these postings complaining how he is playing for the Rockets team, the team you guys are supposedly rooting for. Make your fair criticisms of him, but move on.
He's playing 30 minutes a game for us off the bench. When he plays poorly for a stretch of games, why would anyone call that a non-factor? Lin is an important part of this team. Everyone should want him to play better than he has of late.
This If you want to know how well Lin is doing in a game you almost can just look at his number of touches and how much of the time he is given the ball to run the show. I'm not giving this as an excuse for his playing badly in other games - or suggesting the team needs into accommodate Lin. I'm just saying this happens. and that is a more rational explanation than that he is weak minded or passive or the other psychobabble If he were those things would he be able to step up on a dime and pull out really good games every time Harden is out. (Averaging 18/7). Including this last time just after the Memphis losses (where he was possibly the worst we've seen him) when he went out and got us the Spurs and Mavs wins You can say he should just adjust -we want Linsanity every night. But it's not that easy. I am not sure it 's right to say he is a confidence player. But he does have difficulty getting into the flow of a game on his own. And he does not seem to thrive in a stop and go iso offense the Rockets sometimes play. Lin is a rhythm player who plays best at a fast pace with a lot of ball movement, and where he is able to run the show a little bit. . Cut the kid a break
Nice play on words . Like I said you say this guy is a smart basketball player and look what happens. You say he's a great at the rim scoring and nope. It's better to criticize this guy to death just to get him to go the right direction.
Guys we need to STOP BEATING up on Lin!! I'm not of fan of his play as much as the next LOH BUT for the time being, he is a Rocket!!! If we want to win a Championship this year, he has to be apart of it.
Yall should watch the BBall breakdown of last nights game by Coach Nick...one of his biggest pet peeves is try to help one pass away. This is an absolute no no especially at the end of games with a 3 point lead(when the opposition is either down by 2 or 3)...A two wont kill you but a 3 makes the situation worse... Lin must...i repeat must stop doing this...the LOH wouldve been out in full force if Dragic, who was on fire from deep hit that 3 point shot...and rightfully so.
They're not dedicated to Lin, they're dedicated to the LOF. They put a target on Lin by their trashing coaches and other players along as well as with their endless ridiculous hyping of his ability which set unrealistic expectations and this is the backlash.
And also most of Lin's TO come from his hesitating about shooting and then trying to pass the ball to teammates. Just watch the next game, I guarantee he'll hesitate in shooting and try to pass instead and it will be a turnover.
I don't even remember the last time Lin shot a three in transition or an off-balanced three. His 3pt FG% is not bad but his shot selection is very limited (i.e. mostly spot-up), which as a result makes him a limited offensive player. We can do better than that for an $8m player. That's just the bottomline.
Lin fan is so oblivious to things normal posters know. It's like their brain doesn't work right. They jump in a pool of sharks for Lin but forget to notice Lin is on a boat sipping on tea.
