Everyone can Dream! .................................................Our Dream is kicking Mo's fat butt out the door and bringing in Webber, and teaming him with Garnett next year

The Rockets would be nothing to me if that trade were to occur.

No way in hell Dream for Reeves, jesus....What the F#@! were the Grizz smoking when they signed him for that much money....he's a below par backup....70 mil? WTF?

If Mo is cheap this offseason(how couldn't he be?) I wouldn't mind keeping him, as a backup or something down the line....Still got 61 games for him to show otherwise...give him benefit of doubt...but I still desperately want someone rugged and mean, inside presence at the 4, rebounding and inside game....lol but if we can't get Webber who could that be? Maybe draft will open up some options...

    ------------------

Maybe proof reading before I submit would do some good...lol [IMG]

    Holden,

I see you and I think alike.

We both want Taylor to retire after this season....

    OK, purely hypothetic scenario:

Dream for Reeves, Stromile Swift, and no longer owing VAN a pick from the Francis trade.

I don't think Van's so desperate to unload Reeves that they'd give up Swift to do it. Reeves is such a serious cap burden, any team that receives him should get enough in addition to be champions. However, I'm willing to bet that, if Reeves ever did become a Rocket, he'd be a better player in Houston than he ever was for Vancouver (except, of course, when he was playing for that contract). Even so, I hope it never happens and I doubt I'll be disappointed.

Just to put this in perspective:

ANY trade that involves Dream going to Vancover HAS to involve Reeves leaving Vancover. Period.

pops-Unless VAN. wants to give us the gift of Shareef. [IMG]

If you can divulge any info, how actively (if at all?) is Hakeem being shopped?

I think we've also lost all rights to make fun of Big Country, after he posterized the great defense of Bullard.

I think what Opie meant to imply was that any deal involving Dream for Shareef will include Big Country's baggage.

No I meant it as stated, RP. Really! No other attached implications, other than it is focused on this season. (All bets off next season.)

Any chance/ability/speculation/serious offer ... whatever ... that would involve Hakeem going to Vancover would also have to include Reeves leaving the Vancover roster. Whether he was attached to the Rockets, tripled off somewhere else, or whatever scenario, "Big Country" cannot be occupied on the same roster as Hakeem.

    Reasons:

    1. The best incentative to offer Vancover in any trade where a team would like to gain an advantage would be to ask for Reeves in the deal.

    2. The new owners have asked the team, the public, the players and special interests to help them reduce their overwhelming operational (financial) drain this year. They cannot keep Reeves and trade for Hakeem without risking serious backlash.(The new owner has said he will stay for a couple of years in Canada, only if everyone contributes to reducing his losses. He would look like a hypocrite if Hakeem and Reeves both stayed. It would never happen.)

    3. Chuck Daley and the other advisers have placed priorities on the management of the roster. One was to trade Othella if he continued to be upset. One was to keep Bibby and Dickerson together regardless of periodic slumps by either. One was to honor Shareef's request to either start building a more "upped" roster or honor Shareef's desire to leave (be traded). But, the biggest was to unload weighted contracts. Reeves is numero uno in that category.

    4. Outside of Shareef A-R, reeves hasd the heaviest contract. Between the two who would you think they would like to unload? Right! But if a trade scenario surfaced where they would trade SA-R (very unlikely but not impossible, either because they would be honoring an SA-R request, unloading the buck$ in a front office move, or another super offer that could not be ignored, etc....) they would parlay reeves contract into that also.

All of these reasons, plus some others I'll keep to myself, point to my " ... Hakeem goes to Vancouver, then Reeves then leaves Vancouver ... "

Incidentally, did anyone else catch Bill Worrell's multi-reference to Shareef Abdur-Rahim as Abdul the other night? he usually is pretty sharp on those sort of things. And that was coming on the heels of Calvin's "camel jockey" crack a couple of nights previous.

    Cheers, RP. [IMG]
