Yes they were. I have fairly reliable info and they have been interested for more than a month. As to how serious trade talks got? I do not know. But there definitely was interest.
Guys, I don't know if you're aware, but we ended up with a 6'9" small-forward (area of need for this team), with a lot of upside, who will be a GREAT fit with Howard and Harden. He improves every year, runs the floor harder than almost anyone, and can slash/shoot/handle. From what I'm hearing he's already loved by his teammates and mark my words, will be a team leader and stabilizing force in the locker room for years to come. This man can be a future All-Star and somehow knows how to get his on limited shots (50% FG, 40% 3Pt) or step up when his Alpha Dogs are injured or having off nights. Also, his contract is so low that we could sign a max player and THEN resign him to create a proverbial big 4 (if Les would be willing to pay the tax). Great, smart Morey move! Can't wait to see him in action tonight!
I already said that we were not going to get Rondo. I am not any insider, but a common logic guessing led me to think the rockets will not give up Parsons. If we do get Rondo without giving up Parsons, then we are just so lucky.
I have fairly reliable infor that the Rockets were interested in Kevin Love too, and LaMarcus Aldridge before the season started, and Pau Gasol at one point.... it is as if the Rockets have interest in every star player that becomes available... almost like Daryl Morey said that the Rockets want a third star... imagine that... blows the mind.
I also have reliable info that all the teams in the nba were interested in lebron james. However, I do not know how serious trade talks got.
Sorry if some are disappointed in what I share... I can only tell you what I am told. This is what I was told. I also told you 10% of deals discussed happen. I apologize if got people hyped up for nothing. There were discussions, I promise you that. I tried to keep everyone updated with what I knew as things went along.

Yesterday Boston media report no trade talk regarding RONDO whatsoever... I believe there was no evidence back the claim rockets were trying to trade for RONDO.
