I wonder if Morey after completing a deal just drops his phone (mic) and lays on the couch and takes a nap.
I'm a UT homer and I don't remember Hamilton being a good defender here. He was versatile on the offensive end. Is he a good defender because of length? His PER was pretty good a year or two ago, albeit in limited minutes. I do think this is a great pickup, however, because Brooks wasn't going to get playing time and Hamilton has upside. If he is a good defender, then this is a super pick up. I'm all for Rondo and I'm hoping this means Parsons may be going (not that I want him gone but am willing to trade him for Rondo if needed).
everyone can argue that we could use an upgrade at PG or PF but, the biggest hole was backup wing. Solid Morey move
hamilton isn't good enough to replace garcia in the rotation, and that says a lot. he's young and athletic sure. it balances the roster mostly. no need for 4 pgs. my guess is there is more to come. brewer/smith/2nd for a 3&D 2/3.
Wow, makes me nervous that we just dumped a PG for a SF. Sure hope we aren't moving a SF for a PG here in the next hour.
Why? We'd be getting a allstar at the point, have Beverly and Canaan behind him, where would brooks fit? Also if we were to trade Parsons, wing depth is nessecary.
Agree that this is probably plan B for Dunleavy. It also shows Morey's mindset.....he's not going to give up any assets for a non-star.
I'm thinking this was it. Not exciting, but we just moved a third stringer for a guy who could get rotation minutes. Solid job Morey
