Well then the Celtics run the risk of losing Rondo for nothing. They can wait for the off-season to reopen talks, but there's no guarantee they will get value any higher than what we're offering right now. Teams need to match all three criteria to be a suitable trade partner with Boston: 1) Have assets that appeal to the Celtics 2) Need a Point Guard upgrade 3) Know for sure that Rondo is willing to resign long-term with them. How many teams fit that mold? Not many. The Rockets do though, and Rondo is letting management know he wants to test the Free Agency waters. If Boston wants to be picky now they'll end up getting burned.
But the thing is, who knows what he has put out there as of yet. I don't see the Rockets putting Parsons on the block unless they can get a Dunleavy or Deng.
If Ainge is interested in Bev as cyberx claimed does he even want Lin? Celtics could want Asik but they have a few young Cs on their roster.

So you would go with Casspi or Garcia as our starting small forward? Unless their is a quick trade for Deng that's what we would have to do.
I hope he does too! As much as I love Parsons we can't pass on this if we are truly wanting to win a championship.
Just curious, Do you happen to know whether or not the deal would involve Asik and/or Lin?(obvious one of the two are gone with CP, but not sure which one Ainge prefers). Also if they are looking to move both, has Wallace's or Green's contract also been discussed along with Rondo??? Thanks for any updates you can provide.
probably nothing big this year. but morey won't break his streak, especially since we need help at the 2/3. brewer, smith, second rounder for 1 of: morrow, singler, carroll, tony allen, cj miles, nick young, meeks, wes johnson, fournier...
I'd like to believe there's some underhanded shady dealing by Morey. He could be the Frank Underwood of the NBA (House of Cards reference for anyone who doesn't know). He's prolly got Hinkie on his payroll haha
I've read every single post in this thread and I don't think I've read a single person say, "Don't give them Parsons, give them TJones instead." Are Rockets fans hell bent on keeping Terrence Jones? Would you give up Jones for Rondo?
So if we do give up Parsons for Rondo (which I think I would accept as long as keep Lin) who becomes the 3? I'm not a fan of Garcia or Caspi getting major minutes.
2 hour lunch break and the NBA trade deadline ends in 2 hours...looks like I'll be on twitter and clutchfans till then
I personally think the deal is close and it just a staring contest between Morey and Ainge to see if either one will blink first... Best and Final offers don't get served up until after 1:30 CST...
