Not convinced the Lakers would take back future salary for him, but I'd be happy with Gasol.

I prefer a player with a smaller contract.

We can't afford to lose Lin without acquiring a suitable replacement.

Well I consider having Lin and Asik off the books ($16 million dollars) and a great way to find a replacement or trade for one this summer.

To me cap flexibility could be better than keeping Lin.

Lee/Bass/1st sounds pretty good about now, doesn't it? I was against it back in Dec. But maybe I was wrong...

But if we get Rondo, all is forgiven... :)

Agreed that cap flexibility is important.

I'm just concerned from a basketball standpoint. Lin is our sixth man and emergency replacement for Harden. For better or worse, we need him out there.

I understand Gasol would give us a boost, I'm just worried Lin (or a suitable replacement in the backcourt) is more valuable to us than what Gasol brings to the table as a platoon 4/5 guy.

Lin is important but Gasol could be just as important in crutch time situations. He draws fouls and can make his free throws. I fully expect a Howard and Gasol lineup late in the 4th could lock up wins in the playoffs.

Nope. Not with the contract Lee has.

We have the flexibility for next summer.. I doubt we get any of the big name free agents this year.

    Hey...

If you can get the Lakers to toss in Kendall Marshall I'll shut up. :)

Gasol will bring playoff experinced and veteran leadership. Dude can knock down that mid range jumper. He is a good rebounder and another big body to protect the rim. Question is will he except a role coming off the bench. Or do we trade T. Jones are bring him off the bench?

Who said anything about big free agents? We could sign quality bench players and solidify it as the best in the NBA.

Going to go down to the wire. My final prediction, Lin stays, 50/50 chance Assik is shipped out, 50/50 that D-Mo is shipped out, and Morey acquires 1-2 utility players.

It sure is quiet around here. Morey better pull something up his sleeves.

We have a young team that likes to run up & down the court. Gasol is not that guy
