I'd rather have him in the D-league developing his basketball skills than on the bench developing his towel waving skills.

Im ready to see some Troy Daniels as Harden's backup. Have never watched him play defense. He must be terrible at it.

I would expect the 32% if he was gunning like he is in RGV and didn't have Harden and Howard drawing a lot of attention. The Rockets are in win-now mode for a three year window. What happens if Garcia or Casspi go down during playoffs? Covington would be next man up for small forward minutes. While I don't expect Covington to get a ton of minutes the last 10-15 games in NBA season, I think he gets limited minutes in those games to try to mitigate that large negative effect at first from happening in playoffs if he is needed then due to injury.

Granted, the Rockets could be a completely different team tomorrow.

Love to give Covington another try but he could be another T. Jones that needs a year in D-League to hone his skills.

He's not playing this year unless Garcia and Casspi both go down with injuries.

Well, I do hope that playing time for Harden and Parsons is reduce by a couple of minutes.

I still think Covington would be a better fit than Hamilton.

So, the Hamilton trade suggests that the answer to the OP is "not this year" at least in the front office's opinion. If Covington was ready, the team is unlikely to bring in a similarly young guy at his position, even if the cost of the move is relatively small.

The guy is just a minimum wage rookie they took a chance on. Might work out, but objectively the chances for success on these guys are not high and Morey wouldn't count on it to happen soon simply based on DLeague performance.

man, this is the guy that the Rockets needs for their back up wing spot. He would do wonders in our system. PLEASE CALL HIM BACK UP AND PLAY HIM.

Brewer just needs to go. Man isn't anything but dead weight. Not only does Brewer need to go but Garcia as well. Covington would be taking Garcia and Cassippi minutes in the rotation.

Did we ever determine his height? It was 6'7 w/o shoes right?
