He will probably get a max contract actually. I seriously can't believe how you guys underrate Parsons. Shane Battier was a role player. Hate to tell you, but Parsons is a better player than Shane Battier. Parsons isn't just a catch and shoot role player like you guys insist. I can't argue with idiots. Nothing personal.
Now that the deal seems dead(assuming it was ever alive), here are my thoughts. 1. I'm not really unhappy. Granted, I'm on the Rondo bandwagon for sure. I think he can make us a top-5 defense and bring a bit of nastiness that we lack. But overall I feel trading for him is a lateral move for this season. His impact comes more for the future, because he allow us to use the MLE, allow us to make trades that take on more long term salary all without the fear of 2015 FA. 2. This trade can still be revived during the summer. If the Celtics can't get Love or another star, Rondo's 100% gone. At that time, they'll still need to trade him, probably at a lesser price. 3. I still am hoping for Kevin Love because unlike Rondo, Love is 100% absolutely perfect fit for this team. Rondo is like a 70% fit but you trade for him because of his talent. But Love has more talent and even better fit. So even without Rondo, the possibility of Love is still good. 4. And most importantly, the Rockets are going to be very good with or without Rondo. We're still awesome and we're on pace to get a 3rd seed. Life is still great as a Rockets fan.
Robert Horry to answer your question. Was he ever an all-star? Was he an awesome role player to have for us, ab-so-fu***n-lutely. And please correct yourself, no one is "hating" on Parsons, we're just taking the homer goggles off and seeing things realistically. Dare you to go to another NBA board and post if they would rather have Rondo or Parsons, see what kind of poll results you get then. Dare. You.
So was cyberx's post about Harden and Howard not thinking Rondo's personality would fit in the leak we could expect? It makes sense now. cyberx is King Drew's uncle.
Yeah they look mad rusty even tho we are up by 20. If they weren't so rusty we would probably be up by 35 by now. These rockets heads are definitely else where or they just had too much fun during the break.

Parsons will never sniff 12+ million a year. Are you his mom or something? Youre totally over valuing Parsons. His value is ONLY because of his low ass contract, not about his skills. Players like him are all over the league. A mildly atheltic, semi fast, 3 pt shooting defense oriented wing?? Sounds like a prototypical role player SF to me. I didnt know POF's existed. This is why I stay out of the GARM, total lack of objectivity and all about homerism/playerism.
The Jazz beat us in the WCF... your point again????... Yeah you're making yourself look like a fool Bobby.
I don't think this is all that surprising - the Celts want more than the Rockets are offering so now is the waiting game of whether some other teams steps up to offer more similar to the scenario that played out with Houston's offer in the eventual Orlando/LA trade with Dwight. You don't trade players as good as Rondo without waiting until the very end to see what the best offer is and there is a lot of foolish east teams who could still pony up some assets to make a trade work so they can "win now" as a team with a losing record in the playoffs.... The other scenario here is the Celts just decide to keep him because they think he will improve his trade value in the summer as he plays into shape the rest of the year. Personally I find that hard to believe as Rondo's trade value will then solely hinge on whether he wants to resign with the team that traded for him - but who knows what Danny Ainge thinks. I think they owe it to Rondo to trade him - they have dangled him as trade bait for years and are now making him play through a rebuilding project after they exiled all his friends. For a guy who was arguably THE most important piece of their playoff contention, that's pretty cold blooded treatment.
Love on the Lakers: "People think it's so far-fetched that I would stay in Minnesota,” he says. “And I'm not ****ting on the Lakers, but we have the better team, the better foundation. I'm having fun.” http://www.gq.com/style/grooming/201403/kevin-love-minnesota-timberwolves-hair-beard-upgrade
Seriously? Parsons will probably sign an extension for near max dollars in the offseason. You really think some team WON'T "overpay" for him?
Was that an improvement? I'll help by expressing it mathematically Losing<Winning The trade for a superstar made the team worse.
1) he wouldn't admit it either way. Deny, deny, deny. 2) almost no chance they trade him before the deadline.
I don't think so. I think once Morey asked Harden and Howard about a possible Rondo addition and they responded by saying they didn't think he was a good fit, I think that ended all Rondo trade talk from Houston and Boston. Just speculation on my part however.
