Right. And though they came close to winning, they ultimately lost. I vividly remember the last two games. Kobe resting on defense laying off 5 feet away from Rondo daring him to shoot. It allowed the Lakers defense to cut off all the inside penetration and interior presence. It hurts a team's offense if its ball dominant player isn't a threat on the perimeter. You think our FT and 3 Pt shooting is bad now? Wait til we get Rondo.
OR that's just simply the nature of the business. Have you ever thought about that? Trades can break down and do break down all the time. Being an insider doesn't change that reality. Also, keep in mind that CLUTCH has vouched for him.
Pierce's isos and Gasol outrebounding Garnett also played a part in Game 7. And lets not forget the lost Perkins Game 6.
But then we also clear cap for 2015 free agency, to which we can go for Love and co. Getting Rondo won't ruin Morey's 2015 FA dream. If anything, it might help of chances to win a title before waiting for 2015 to get a third star. And you cannot assume that the players will not like him. Who knows? Maybe getting traded will help Rondo's attitude or whatever people are worrying about.
I'm starting to think ball dominant means anyone who needs the ball in their hands to be effective, because that is what it is.
If it was just me, I will not trade anyone on the current Rockets, except ASIK and BREWER for a SG or a SF.
Uh, aren't you the one who brought up those Finals as evidence of Rondo's worth? Rondo is a pretty good point guard, but massively overrated. He's not on the level of Chris Paul, Stephen Curry or Russell Westbrook. In fact, he's worse than Kyle Lowry and Goran Dragic who Morey already let go. Rondo has never lead his team to a better offense as the lead guard than Harden did last year despite playing with Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett. Harden, for comparison, played with Jeremy Lin, Chandler Parsons and Omer Asik.
You can't call a PG dominant when the guy is one of the best in the business at finding the open man. He is an assist monster. Do you realize what the job of a PG is?
Where are these suitors going to magically appear from. Rondo has little value as an expiring contract because no team is going to give up anything significant for a one year rental. Whoever Rondo is traded to has to have a legitimate chance of resigning him, he is going to be traded to either a contender or a big market with the means to pay him a lot. Of those teams with space, how many are looking for a PG? Dallas? The Knicks? Toronto after Lowry leaves? The Lakers? As of now none of those teams can offer a package better than ours. Unless Boston is sure they still have a chance to keep Rondo through their rebuild, it makes sense to trade him now. If a deal goes through, I don't think we lose Parsons. We probably would have to take on the Gerald Wallace contract, which only really sucks capwise, I wouldn't mind him off the bench and it expires in time to resign Parsons, assuming we pick up his option.
How well Rondo would be would ultimately depend on whether or not Harden and Howard can mesh with him, especially Harden. For a PG like Rondo to work, Harden has to give way to him.
Solid argument. I'm not really sold on Rondo as a fit for this team, but some of y'all are acting like the dude sucks.
he is actually shooting the three ball and making them at a career best percentage. I am sure that trend will continue.
I agree. Like I said, take it with a grain of salt. CSNNE is the network of the Boston Celtics, so anything A. Sherrod gets fed, it's basic wishy washy stuff. I'm sure the same can be said for CSN Houston with you guys.
